Voice Chat?

I wouldn't say the WoW community was less tame. Go look at their forums for for example. Things that go on there would not fly here. In game stuff "can" be just as bad or worse. I had to tone myself down when I stopped playing WoW and started FFXIV. If WoW can't get their voice chat right, I don't think SE can. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying I don't want it to happen.

As for it being used to harass someone, yes, it can be, but so can a lot of other things.

Sorry, I think I phrased that wrong. I meant WoWs community is overall worse than ours so by that logic I assume that just because a voice chat doesn't work there doesn't mean it wouldn't work here. Sorry for any confusion.

No worries. If they can't get it to work properly, as well as other MMOs can't get it to work properly, I don't think SE can get it to work right. Would I like FFXIV to have voice chat ? Yes I would, but only if you can switch it on and off.
