Why is it that FF11 fans have to have everything hidden and hard to understand, seriously ?

Why can't things be plan to see in the text and easy to understand.

Figuring out secrets and hidden tricks is entertaining, like a big secret puzzle. Having absolutely everything laid out and ready for you is kinda boring. I for one love the extra meta challenges. It's why I love the original Zelda. You had to do some work on your own. You didn't always have maps, and the ones you did have weren't very clear. You had no direction beyond a few subtle hints. You had to figure things out and think about them.

It feels to me that a lot of games these days make it far too easy. Not a lot of thinking involved, you just move from point A to point B like the NPC told you.

But whatever, I'm being nostalgic.

It's kinda rude to claim you have special knowledge and then not share it because you're not allowed to.

I'm not really sure you understand exactly what he is asking for.

He isn't asking that every single item have numerous behind-the-scene stats that we don't have access to... he's asking for a select few items to have some easter eggs associated with them, some hidden information that people can discover and discuss.

It could put some of the NM drops back into the limelight now that materia has made most of them obsolete.

I really hated having to look everything up online in FFXI. That's one reason why playing with a Windower (forbidden by SE) was practically required. In FFXIV cooking is completely forgotten because foods aren't labeled with their effects and nobody can be bothered to try to exploit the confusing food system.

People say it was fun figuring out "mysteries", but you never did! Someone else did and you looked it up online!

I've been playing for 4 months now, and I still have no idea what food does in this game. I sometimes eat stuff just so it looks like I know.

Sorry were not allowed to have anything that is ambigious in this game. It would cause player to lash out in rage of the audacity of the developers to add something to the game that may/may not be awesome. Nor or we allowed to have a item that looks like it sucks but be awesome under certain conditions.

It's too much stress for us modern day MMO'ers, we have real issues to worry about!

To be honest I'd love to see some latent effect and hidden effect items roll out sometime in the future. I doubt we will see any hidden effect items though, just a gut feeling.

ya that fact that you say this knowledge exists but wont tell about it is very rude and comes off as elitist. Is this information something that will break the elitism you all feel? I dont mean to sound mean but in essence what i am saying is that if you were sworn to secrecy why bring it up at all and hold it over our heads?
