Would like to see more of these please. They were kind of fun in 11 trying to figure certain ones out. At the very least it could that the community could talk about on the forums other than trolling crap.

Actually, I'm under the firm belief that lacking information is what causes the large amount of trolling.

I can respect what you're getting at, and they are leaving some of that in the game (craft direction, moon phases, etc. Yoshi won't say if there is an effect or not.)

But I think it would go a little too far for that to happen with battle stats.

Problem with these kind of things is people see what they want to see, just like how people used to convince themselves how direction and moon phase used to effect crafting and how some have convinced themselves of the same thing in FFXIV.

It's not BS actually, it's either a design choice to have certain things hidden or they actually are hidden effects.

Thats exactly why we don't want another FFXI them items in FFXIV. Everything should be clearly defined and explained. Don't even get me started on direction of crafts and moon phases nonsense.

I'm kind of 50/50 on these. I like stuff like this in theory - it's fun to theorycraft as a community and try to figure stuff out! I think FFXI went a little too far in the direction of opacity, though, and I think XIV is mostly going to be focused on instanced content strategy rather than "how does this item work", which I am fine with.
