SE ignored you instead a long time ago. I suggest you to try a game with open world PvP if you want open world danger.



Actually HW was intended to have open world danger in the form of harder monsters way back at launch due to complaints of 2.0 open areas being considered overly easy. It didn't necessarily work but the intention was there. You CAN have open world difficulty without PVP BTW.

Ehh. I find this more annoying than challenging. When I go out to gather or do something, I don't want to worry about aggroing a bunch of toads or being forced to party just to survive. It's one gripe I had with FFXI.


I agree with you on this but SE wont do it cause then people will just complain that the game is to hard and blaaa blaaa blaa moan moan moan.


Zones are too small and cramped for that. If we had Zones the size of West Karana in EQ, we could have the Griffons to go with it. I'm not opposed to this. But I think it'd be a limited by our PS4 playerbase.


When I played FFXI, I almost always had the fear of getting aggro'd with the possibility that I will die and delevel. I never felt fear in FFXIV.

Truth be told, I haven't felt that kind of fear in ANY mmo but FFXI. I remember the feeling when sneak/invis was suddenly about to wear off and I had to drop what I was doing to find a safe spot as fast as I could! That being said, I think the nature of FFXIV combat prevents this from occurring. In FFXI everything required a group, but not in XIV. So nothing is super deadly except in dungeons. That's why I think "elite" zones might be fun. Areas that are open world, but you can only really progress through it in a group.
