The twelve as primals /vs/ personal guardian diety

I'm not sure if it's been confirmed or just a rumour, but there's been talk of the twelve being summoned as primals later. And we've all chosen a guardian diety for our character already. So I thought; wouldn't it be nice if that choice was reflected in story dialogue somehow, if/when the time comes? If the WoL's guardian is being summoned.

Mine has already seen some screen time then

But it would be an interesting secnerio where you are: "hey I worship you and all but like ima going to need to kill you now.."

If it happens I agree it would be cool to have the game recognize your choice.

Don't forget though that summoning never actually summons the real deity at all, but just a pale imitation of it which then becomes nothing but an aetheric leech demanding aether and prayer to keep it anchored in the corporeal realm (and tempering it's summoner to do so). Gaius was ironically correct when he said that that the Twelve were "no different than the gods of the beasts".

I haven't seen anything recent from the development team about personal summoning of a player's Guardian deity, and I doubt it would even be possible (for the above reasons). It sounds more like wishful thinking to me personally (I remember ages ago mentioned on the Lore forum that the Twelve in fact do exist but not necessarily in a form that Eorzeans or the player too for that matter may expect, but nothing further seems to have been mentioned on that subject), or just rumour making by players disappointed that they can't summon full size Primals and so are looking instead at the Twelve as an alternative.

Really, whether the Twelve do exist or not is somewhat moot given that Hydaelyn has kind of taken over as the very real and active divinity in the game's storyline - she is the source of the Echo after all, and the player is empowered by her. Thus making whatever piddly god or goddess of the Twelve the player chose as their guardian somewhat redundant. But I digress...

I can't say for sure but the demanding of bloo- crystals, is not a requirement though right? Like Odin seems to just waddle around without asking for much besides server death, and Ramuh seemed to be "yea.. I'm the bouncer.. and I don't really run the club inside.. if they want to strengthen me because I'll protect them that's their choice.. fight me and we can prove your worthiness~".

I've always approached the summons a bit like Sin, where all are sin but obviously the sin changes from summoning to summoning however you could also say there was the first - do we know if some of the summons came from pure myth? I've figured that all the summons had an origin, and just at the moment I've been assuming it's echo users who became too grand (we know echo can be had in beastmen too). Otherwise I figure there should be a lot more summons, of all shapes and sizes just considering how easy it is to get a group together burn some smoke, hire a few RMT for crystals, and rage believe in the same thing together.

Asking because I've seen you actually pay attention to this stuff, and I sort of fly by and pick stuff up with interest but am not always playing while fully awake lol.

Hmm yeah but that doesn't say if the primals are myth or not, could still be previous echo bearing warriors shattered from the mother crystal where they were slumbering - or something off the walls like that. Also we know that primals existed previous of that event, although it does look like they were sealed there and "escaped". Perhaps the Garleans found a way to capture the primals and they escaped the ship, rather than the lake (something like the fight you see with Gaius).

for those wondering BigRed is describing the Battle of Silvertear Skies, above Silvertear Falls (lake) - a place you've seen in older trailers to be sure and a very important place of power (it had its own dedicated dragon! And the Allagan's built their tower to be at its feet). In the fight Midgardsormr was able to destabilize the Agrias causing it to explode in a massive way, destroying the surrounding area and creating the wild scene we know Mor Dhona for.

IIRC, the primals are definitely in the timeline before Argias but I don't recall them much before that, it was the primals that drew the Garlean attention in the first place - which would make the Garleans the original warriors of light? haha.. ha..ha... XD. I'm sure its not that simple but given all the crimes our own cities have committed it wouldn't be too hard to paint some nice friendly light onto the Garleans (which is my hope far in the future we get a sweet high tech city, or two).

I know the Allagans had prayer boxes and all that fun stuff, obviously they housed an elder primal in their moon, but I don't remember if the Allagans were whipping Garuda out at tea parties or not.

My running inner-head canon has always been false separation of the 12 and Primals. I always just assume they are the same beings summoned, filtered, and viewed through different lenses making them different only in the eyes of the beholder.

Like the crusades irl, where Christians and Muslims thought they were fighting for "their god" when mountains of research and history show its the same god viewed through different eyes.
