Just that actively reporting vote kick abuse doesn't do a thing, because SE has a silly definition of what does and what doesn't constitute "vote kick abuse".

But reporting does have an impact and I have seen people get warning and penalties from the GM. They leave the definition to be open to interpretation by the GM so they are the ultimate arbiters of such things and you need human smarts to sort this stuff out on a case by case basis. If the rules and definitions are too rigid, you leave the GMs to become vulnerable to trolls gaming the GM and trolling players thru the GMs. The GMs are not just priests to hear confessionals and swear them to secrecy and do nothing. The confidentiality part they are required to uphold, but they do take actions and their actions can be observed but you need to know where to look, and it kind of hard to do when the other players abusing vote kick on the DF is on another server.

I do try to teach new players. I'm happy to do so and in fact I regularly go into learning parties for things like T5 and EX Primals to help out. But like I said, I draw the line when someone dies to the very same thing over and over and over and shows no sign of learning anything from it. When there's no progression, in other words.

Also, I expect wipes as a general rule on low-level dungeons with non-level-synced players or when it's clear that this particular job isn't one the person is used to playing. I expect lots of wipes in a learning party. When I'm running Expert Roulette, however, I expect players to be at least somewhat competent.

An attitude like this is wrong on so many level. How about if some hacked your account and you don't even talk to SE customer service about it. It only happened once... right on. That makes a lot of sense. How about don't call the cops because your neighbor is being executed by the local gangbanger? They can only get killed once. This is why neighborhoods go down the drain btw. If there is a real problem, people should bring it up and discuss it. There can be debate about whether the problem is real or not, but telling people to be quiet, taking away their free speech rights, is non-starter.

That's a silly strawman argument.

I have a question with the "play style" defense.

I can enter a DF in level 1 gear and say that is my play style to have a challenge. The game allows you to do this and yet I would be useless to the duty. Ofc I would be rightfully vote kick following what is socially acceptable. But I can turn around and complain about an unjustified kick because they did not like my play style.

How do you pick what side to side with? I know this is an extreme example but it is commonplace to see people enter dungeons under geared and have people force youplay with them under "it is not a big deal" So who is truly using a grief tactic now? I say the other 3 are greifing me in forcing me to carry such a thing and that I should not take a 30 minute penalty over it.

I also do not get why there is no real appeal for wrongful GM actions, it is like you have the final say and we have to deal with it. This was heavily implied with that live steam Q and A when the person asked a service question. How come people that get bad service have no where else to turn to? outside talking to yoshi-P like that and suddenly getting answers?

Finally when vote kicking someone for interest conflict, there should be a box to fill out why the kick was justified. I have been kick abused in dun before. Not a word was said and I was doing above and beyond my job as a healer by raising other healers and other parties and so on.
