I did not mean to give that impression actually. Dont missunderstand, i will give my 100% and i expect to everyone to do the same, dammit. But i dont know "you", i dont know every player out there and my playstyle demands to be player friendly, not to impart my way to play into others-NOT the "I DO WHAT I WANT", but the "I dont care if you dps fulltime or not if you keep the party healed and THEN do dps if you are confident enough."
Sorry, english is not my mother language.
Understandable!
This is where my problem lies though. Many people in these Healer-DPS threads scattered across the Healer and General Discussion boards have straight up said they do it because they feel like relaxing- so they play a healer and don't DPS at all.
Playing at 80% for everyday stuff is no big deal to me, playing at 20% like so many openly admit to doing to be is terrible.
I heal, DPS, watch netflix and reply to discord and skype text chats in dungeons or farm content. There's downtime between trash pulls that, if you can type fast enough, you can carry out conversions with multiple people. And if you aren't a clicker and watch how good your tank is at the start you can guesstimate when heals will be needed and half-pay attention while DPSing and watching netflix. And no, I've never let a tank die while multitasking.
Maybe there's something wrong with me though. If I'm not multitasking I get extremely bored and quickly. lol
I was talking about AOE damage. Most noticeably in dungeons. So why are you linking savage parses?Yeah I like totally believe you and stuff...
https://www.fflogs.com/rankings/13#metric=dps
I'm looking at the rankings here... and... errm there's no WHMs here in the top category... and it is showing their damage DPS...
You're either living in your own world... or... if your WHM side is out damaging your SMN side... then the likely culprit is yourself.
The SMNs are at about 4K DPS, the WHMs are at about 2K.
And there's more...
The highest AoE DPS order goes like this...
1. SMN
2. BLM and MNK (shockingly tied)
Now I'm not going to say WHMs can't do DPS... but to think they outdamage the rest of the pack is... well.... living in a fantasy world.
Summoner's have a wind up on their AOE damage and their painflares are limited by aetherflow. Holy has no limitation. They can spam it freely as much as their MP allows them to. In terms of AOE burst, there's no contest. Now if enemies live long enough for a contagation to make full use of buffed dots, that's another story.

Summoner AoE is incredibly strong on trash packs in dungeons, much higher than WHM etc. That's isn't to say WHM isn't high, though.I was talking about AOE damage. Most noticeably in dungeons. So why are you linking savage parses?

In my case and experience leveling a scholar, what about tanks that don't know what mitigation or a cooldown is and take half their hp with every auto attack? WTB tanks that know what a defensive cooldown is.
If i see a healer standing still while i do all the healing in some raids with the occasional "heal", yes, you are right in your words and i dont mean otherwise. Let me give you a quick example: I have a friend who played FFXIV and picked up BLM, my gf teached her the mechanics and was learning fast. It happened in a duty roulette where another player bashed her because of her skills and rotation (i dont know the details but as i said, she was learning) and at that point forward she stopped going with randoms out of fear.Understandable!

At this day she doesnt play the game.
That's what i mean, if a healer is doing 20% or les then yes, he deserves to be kicked out. But if another healer is striving and yet gets bashed because he/she is not 'fulltime' due to lack of confidence or other things we are not aware about... That's what i meant. IF the healer keeps the party healed and it's not standing still 80% of the time yeah, i will get anoyed. Otherwise i will be patient and give a tip or two if i can.
But that is just me.
