How do I tell PLDs that they do not touch the damage buff. If they want to do damage, play WAR.
Having to play ring-around-the-rosey with Garo PLDs over damage buff is getting tiring.
Glad you all are taking it so seriously on the matter. I'm sure SE sees all the complaints and will respond with something somewhere down the line. But for the time being, it works. It keeps people from being toxic, as we have seen so far within this thread (Not everyone, but a some users here.)
Team up and use outside programs for communication, if you solo queue ranked, you know what you are getting yourself into and you have no one to blame.
Stop the toxicity. It has no place here on FFXIV.
We should just take more features out of the game under the pretense that we can just use an outside program to do the same!Glad you all are taking it so seriously on the matter. Though it's silly to call chat a "feature" since it's been the standard form of communication in mmos since their conception.
Start a #removechatPvE thread on general if you want this. Because it clearly exists in every part of the game, people are still being banned for saying things in chat, and you can't chat in feast anymore. What a good solution, I'll support your crusade if you really believe this is the solution.
Im a mute, can't used voip but I can communicate with words. Oh wait, SE took away my words. =(
Let me stop you there and clarify that it has, in fact, NOT stopped anyone from being toxic. It's actually compounded the problem.
Why do people get "toxic" so to speak? Usually because they're losing due to mistakes by one, several, or even all teammates. It sucks. Competition stirs passions, and Yoshi P has said this himself. NO, this does not validate anyone being rude or nasty toward teammates, but we all agree that effective communication and follow up are what make a team successful. And usually, the teams that are winning are far less likely to be toxic. . .
. . .Except they're not winning like they could anymore. Several people have posted about situations that, WITH chat, could've been prevented or recovered from, but the inability to convey something that the quick chat system doesn't cover (and let's not kid ourselves: there's a LOT it doesn't cover) pretty much ensured their loss. I can personally say I've been in matches where saying one simple thing to my team could've at least made them aware of a crucial factor that the enemy team was taking advantage of (10 stacking, bad positioning, not focusing the right target, etc.). Sure, you can advocate VoIP usage, but as it's been mentioned, that option isn't available for players with impairments. Not only that, but didn't SE originally say that the reason they don't have native voice chat in game is because they didn't want to create a situation where it becomes mandatory for gameplay. Yet in this one particular case, it is the very antithesis of that statement.
Furthermore, people have reported that angry/rude players are using the quick chat system TO be toxic still. "Stopping Healer! Thank you." apparently is being used to tell someone to "Stop playing healer." Then there's all the "Nice Job!" spamming when teammates make even little, recoverable mistakes. So no, quick chat does nothing to fix the problem it was intended to, and even compounds it. Because now, that anger and frustration is carried beyond the matches. Let's not act like people don't send tells or bicker in linkshells or even make an alt on a different server to "express themselves" to a player they're upset with. It's not right, no. But neither is crippling a crucial feature of a game mode and punishing the many for the actions of a few.
So no, it does NOT keep anyone from being toxic, and let's let that misconception be done with, here and now.
I actually had a friend do this and the thread was deleted, and he got a 10 day forum ban. Utter hypocrisy!Start a #removechatPvE thread on general if you want this. I did that. It was removed and I received a 10 day forum ban. So, yaaaaa.... >.>Start a #removechatPvE thread on general if you want this. Please bring back feast chat
