Did even read my comment I said Robes are going to look fucking stupid on RDMs I miss the hoodies from FFXI. I didn't mention anything about the AF gear which is what you have just posted. My comment had nothing to do with AF gear. Your reply make no sense at all.
My point is that I trust the XIV team to make outfits that fit RDM because they clearly understand what a RDM is visually. This may actually improve the diversity of caster gear and see more guantlets and capes than robes. Casters do have a few diverse options, but I feel like RDM will push the boundary.
I never said it looked bad, just that it didn't really look like a classic RDMXI's RDM looked snazzy dressed in an outfit obviously inspired by the french musketeers (AF1 and AF2). AF3 went off the deep end, though if you dim the lights enough and squint your eyes you can almost pretend it looks like something you'd actually fight in (nevermind the irony in it being called Swordsman's Set despite having no melee stats).

I trust the dev team to make some good looking outfits for RDM as well, but the problem is that if they make diverse sets to appease the addition of RDM, it takes away from BLM's, where they should have some good sets of robes well. I'm not saying that BLM's should only have robes, but I don't think taking robes completely out is the way to handle this.
Idk, I hope the dev teams can find a proper balance that will all of the caster's aesthetic, without having to rely on glamour. Relying on glamour to make RDM feel like RDM is a cop-out, leaving the creative design work to the community rather than taking that responsibility themselves.
Don't screw this up, SE.
He's talking about stuff like the Vermillion Cloak that was basically a hoodie. XI's RDM looked snazzy dressed in an outfit obviously inspired by the french musketeers (AF1 and AF2). * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
* Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)
I stand by my original post after seeing that.He's talking about stuff like the Vermillion Cloak that was basically a hoodie.
