More money for the company goes towards a better game, in the end. It's not a preferable situation to have a Cash Shop, but it's certainly untenable (or at least far less tenable than with it) in the current gaming landscape. If you don't like the Cash Shop, then don't buy into it. Clearly enough people like it, because it's still here.

Keep in mind- Gaming has evolved, as all things do. To stay competitive, and profitable, you need to match competitors, or better. SE's just... well, operating as a business should. Can't really be helped.

For the content we receive some question if the money is not going else where. So SE floated 14 and paid to do the game twice. If we consider that a loan and X amount of revenue have to go back to cover that. Now we have operating costs X amount of revenue goes to that. Now we have system upgrade which was originally covered by the cash shop for EU. None of us know exact amount of money coming or going. It is just a feeling player base is putting way more back in then extras and past debts. Also remember NA servers are operating in Canada they may have possible tax breaks from province. I know Ubisoft Montreal gets quite a bit. The dollar is 75 cents US making operating costs in Canada also cheaper.

If they came out and said the new system upgrade is so amazing housing and inventory issues are a thing of the past. Then awesome it was money well spent and I might even buy something from the cash shop. But lack of movement and past failures over multiple years, from this current team. Has led a large part of the player base to be cynical.
