The Mog Station trees are not tradeable or sellable on the MB. So, it's obviously people selling the old ones.

Anyway, I'm really glad they're finally making these available again. I somehow missed that event, and I've been wanting those trees ever since.
Much as I hate SE putting new, unique items (or emotes) onto the Mog Station, past event items that were originally available in-game, or rare items (like dyes that can come from ventures but only if you get lucky) that can be gotten in-game, seem perfectly reasonable to have there.
As for the price, $5 isn't bad if you just want one, or if you're decorating an FC house where several members could each contribute one. But it could add up to a lot if you want to decorate a large estate's grounds with lots of these trees by yourself. Perhaps if they offered a couple packages: one tree for $5, or four trees for $12, or something along those lines, it would help.
For myself, I think I might spring for a couple of them. I only have a small house anyway, and two trees would be enough to look nice there.

I like that, SE do some of that Costco bulk BS where you go in for one item and come out with $200 worth of stuff but you don't hate yourself for doing it lol. I always buy too much because I look at the price per unit and love getting more for less, but I just end up getting mountains of things lol - so I can say when I do shop the multiple / value thing works for me.As for the price, $5 isn't bad if you want one, or if you're decorating an FC house where several members could each contribute one. Out of curiosity do these trees bind when placed?
Those marketing folks at work again. And look we'll have cherry blossom petals to go with that $5 tree this year too.
Pretty sure the mogstation stuff is bound on purchase. You can't trade them or put them on the mb that I know of.
So long as it's not the "destroyed on removal" type of binding to the location that some housing items have. That would totally suck for something you paid real money for. (And yet, without that rule, I'm not sure how they would prevent other FC members with decorating privileges from stealing them. This game really needs the "bound to <character ID>" setting that games like LOTRO have, where if someone removes your decoration, it just returns to you.)
Someone who bought from the mogstation would have to confirm it, but I'm fairly sure they don't blow up on removal. That said the wallpapers, light fixtures and what not that are on the mogstation that normally get destroyed on removal still do.So long as it's not the "destroyed on removal" type of binding to the location that some housing items have. Just want to point out that there us a 10$ set that has 2 pf the trees and the mat. IMO these prices are very fair and I'm glad to have them.
I get what you're saying, personally I like seeing them mix-matched with other things rather than just a solid clump of trees. Like one tree, two max, a handfull of those smaller pink blossom bushes, a bridge, a pond, a series of stepping stones and a fire and some benches would be pretty. Wouldn't have to pay more than $5-10 for that, and if you got the two tree deal you basically get the pretty mat and umbrella for free. I would say it's a good deal considering, and it definitely should bring the mb prices on those trees down a bit.

You can get gift a friend codes when you purchase them on Mog Station. Is it really the Mog Station one, though? Or are they dumping their old stock of trees from the event?
I would have assumed these wouldn't be tradeable, just like they made two different items for some of the dye colors in order to have a tradeable version from ventures and a non-tradeable version from the Mog Station. These are listed as "Authentic Eastern Cherry Tree". The originals were just "Eastern Cherry Tree." I'd assume that difference is to identifiy them as different items, so as to have a different tradeable/untradeable attribute.
In regards to my previous comment it works like this. Player A gives Player B 5.5mil for Player B to purchase Player A a code off the Mog Station. Player B gives Player A the code in exchange for gil. That is how they get past the untradeable barrier.
