Regarding the Cherry Tree, Thank You

Thank you, SE, for finally putting the Eastern Cherry Tree on the Mog Station. I don't own a house myself and so cannot use it, but I'm glad to see it up there as it is one of my favorite yard furnishings and I love seeing them. Also, thank you for adding them at a reasonable price. $5 each is very fair.

While I agreed with your statement that having an option to purchase the cherry tree is a good thing, I can't tell if you're being sarcastic with the final sentence. Since you said you don't own a house, I can tell you that it's easy to come up with a good looking yard design that can utilized anything from one to five cherry trees easily, and maybe eight to ten on a large mansion. By no means it's necessary, but surely you can tell how quickly the bill can add up. Don't get me wrong, I can easily buy a bunch of them with the amount of money I usually spend on drinks, but I simply disagree that the pricing is fair.

I think $5 would be fine if you could also buy them from the Salvage, like one in your mail box and then you can buy more for like 50K to 200K (the price that beastmen tribe items cost). If it does, then cool :3

But uh 5 each? Good lord lol, people would easily want to put more than one tree in their Asian themed housing (like 5 easily). Maybe even if it was bundled haha. It's cool they made the item available again, as I'm sure it was /highly/ desired, but I'd have to agree with SokiYagami that I'm not sure that $5 each is a great price :P.

I remember old threads discussing the tree how people said it'd probably be no less than $15 a tree, given other yard furnishings on the Mog Station and such. As others have said, buying the tree and selling it on the MB will make it available to others without having to spend money if they don't want to. Overall, $5 strikes me as fair.

They're already doing that. There was someone on party finder earlier today trying sell the trees for 5.5mil each. And considering they're $5 each, that is basically 1.1mil per dollar.

$5 seems pretty reasonable given the exclusiveness of these trees (past events, etc.). Plus, they used to go for exorbitant amounts of money on MP. While I agree that larger amounts of trees needed for a "good-looking yard" will add up, there are always alternatives to the trees in game i.e. the autumn trees.

Is it really the Mog Station one, though? Or are they dumping their old stock of trees from the event?

I would have assumed these wouldn't be tradeable, just like they made two different items for some of the dye colors in order to have a tradeable version from ventures and a non-tradeable version from the Mog Station. These are listed as "Authentic Eastern Cherry Tree". The originals were just "Eastern Cherry Tree." I'd assume that difference is to identifiy them as different items, so as to have a different tradeable/untradeable attribute.

The mog station ones are untradeable, cannot be sold.
