    FFXIV has a realistic , living world right now... and now putting the double more of color into the engine.. more shadows and muddy textures on the ground etc.. to make it run on ps3.. yes it seems to me very "plastic" like an "AION" yes..



    If you compare it to my screenshot of ul'dah the new screen doesnt have a "real" look at all. its totally overdone with colors and shades. and look at the sword and the textures on the ground.. this doesnt look "real" anymore. the world now, Ul'dah for example, looks to me more "real"

    well its just only one screenshot.. and its my opinion for now to this.
    I think the shades you're talking about is exactly what we see in the game right now when you use spells/weaponskills. Everything gets darker and there's a light coming from the PC, which I absolutely love. Maybe this is what's on the image? (ie look at Kain).

    I was thinking that too, about how you get lowered lighting when you use a skill. Sometimes I don't notice it but I think the game still does this. D:
