I believe it is a bit reverse here. Samurai is very hyped because it features so many things that appeal to many audiences. On the other hand, Dancer has a very specific audience and it is actually the one job being overhyped despite having a more narrow appeal.
Someone on Reddit had brought up that YoshiP had mentioned to look closer at the story of Spiderman.
One thing I've noticed folks over looking is that Spiderman's alter-ego Peter Parker in the movies is a Chemistry student before he picks up his job as a Photographer.
So what if the Job is Chemist?
Dictionary definitions are not the point. What I posted was the distinction from class definitions declared by the game. WHM use nature-based rods and canes while the BLM ones are supposed to be more oriented to artificial/crafting (metals, etc.)WHT also uses canes, and crooks, which is a staff. Never saw a "radical" though. [...]

They can likely come up with yet a new category of wand/rod, just like they can easily have more than one type of sword category (rapiers for RDM and katana for a hypothetical samurai, 2 handed swords for DRK)
My point is mostly that Square had decided, at least at first, that each class (or class-free job) would wield a unique category of weapon.
SIDE TOPIC:
We have 3 melee dps, and now will have 3 magic dps, 3 healers, 3 tanks.
We have only 2 physical range DPS: bard and Machinist. We need a new ranged physical dps job... give BLU a boomerang!!!
Interesting... that would fit, under that light.Someone on Reddit had brought up that YoshiP had mentioned to look closer at the story of Spiderman.

Yoshi P never said to look closer at the Spiderman story. In fact, he said that the shirt had nothing to do with anything... though that was somewhat tongue-in-cheek. And he has laughed at several of the theories, and still hasn't given any indication to the community what the shirt might have meant, if it meant anything at all.Someone on Reddit had brought up that YoshiP had mentioned to look closer at the story of Spiderman.

Damn Stan Lee! So cryptic it could mean anything
maybe it means both, Samurai und Blue Mage. Maybe we get a combination of both jobs . cause let's face it, the basic idea of an ff sam doesn't really provide anything cool we don't have in the game atm. unless we go with FFT samurai which is kinda weird.
