Healer Pet Peeves

My days of maining WHM are long past, but my biggest pet peeve about healers was... myself. Trying to squeeze that one extra Holy in and healing the tank a mere instant too late, or running out of mana shortly afterwards to heal the group. Healing under Cleric Stance and noticing a bit too late. Using Benediction instead of Regen accidentally (they are next to each other in my skill shortcuts). Trying to use Benediction to heal someone when it's on cooldown for another 30 seconds - after wasting it accidentally a few minutes prior. Forgetting that Asylum exists (because I play the class only on rare occasions, and almost never above level 50 dungeons).

What a shameful display.

Lately my pet peeve has been co-healers not keeping up their end of the heals. Busting my ass to keep up party and MT heals then looking at their MP and I'm nearly dry and they're sitting with MP almost full. Going into "farms" with a WHM and out healing them while they die to easy mechanics or don't help out with heals during rage markers.

And this morning, a MT who was about 10k under the HP cap, and stood in almost every aoe he could. He didn't have or use Awareness for Diabolos Hollow so he got crit to death before I could even think to use Essential Dignity. Like, he went from full HP to dead.

Welcome to healing in raids. You can always say it in a polite manner to use cool downs or request a tank switch.

Also, I want to gnaw off my hands at the wrist when I catch myself button smashing trying to get an ability/spell off that is on cooldown, or I am on the wrong hotbar selection shouting, "Please don't die tank! Please don't die!" Aww, crap :|

Tanks pulling too many mobs so they melt faster then i can heal

Tanks running too far from eos IN A BOSS ROOM

Tanks pulling mobs out of my aoes (shadowflare/ sacred soil)

tanks running from succor

Tanks running ahead in a dungeon before i can give everyone protect.

Tanks not paying attention to what the party is doing and pulling mobs before they're with them

People that go dark knight but they've never tanked before in their life

Tanks somehow losing aggro to a stationary, frozen fairy.

People using the line "its the healers job" to cover for the fact that they're terrible.

People kicking me from a Leveling duty that's below level 30 because I have Protect slotted third as a Scholar. But before they do that, they lecture me about how useful Protect is as if I don't understand what it does.

I've heard zero argument for Protect having any greater use at that low of a level compared to Cleric Stance and Aero. A second instant cast DoT with a front end potency is far more useful than a % defense buff in those dungeons.

I'm not new to it. I just got a handful of trash Co healers. I'm used to assuming I'll be main healing in 24 mans. This is a pet peeve thread; it's a pet peeve of mine to be healing my ass off to keep people on their feet then see nearly full mp for the other healer, notice very few healing abilities going off, or even just them standing around.

The tank, I did suggest awareness but a) he was already dead and b) he never responded.
