The Feast is SO much better without chat

So basically, you guys don't want the chat back because you're full of hate, therefore you want others to suffer in Feast.

I'm on the fence about the whole thing, but lets not pretend the majority wanting chat back on these forums have been anything but snarky, rude and impolite. I refuse to believe SE put such a restriction in place if they didn't feel it was an actual problem, a little hamfisted and extreme sure, but it shows it might be bad enough to warrant such an extreme action.

Thats what I say, logs dont lie and Im positive SE took careful consideration and examined the evidence before doing this. Only the serious hardcore pvp community is against this ban. Meanwhile Im having a blast

So everyone but yourself is part of "the serious hardcore pvp community"? Lemme tell ya, you don't have the authority to speak for anyone but yourself.

In this thread alone there are plenty of new PvPers who disapprove of it. It's not even about players stepping out of line and harassing others, it's about SE taking the easy way out; and if anyone honestly believes that the removal of chat punishes the players that actually deserve to be banned, you're kidding yourself - the players that are actually at a disadvantage are new players who want to improve and veterans who want to help new players improve. It's a no-win situation for pretty much everyone except oversensitive ignoramuses and toxic toerags <- I do hope that's an insult I'm allowed to use here. ;^)

Its not SE taking the 'easy way out'. Its a business. Ever thought beyond the need to punish ppl why they took it out? Its not about that

Think, you're about to hold a 6 month pvp event to introduce ppl to it. You have content used mostly not for strategy. Across all data centers. Excluding the better part of the pvpers. Then you get this massive influx of ppl who dont know how to pvp. What do you think is gonna happen? Everyone will play nice? Frontline you have 72 ppl. Feast doesnt give annonimity however. Considering the input theyd have no choice but to remove it and find an alternative method. Because otherwise that's just bad. Way worse than just chat ban. from one piece of content. No reason to put it back MUCH less with 4.0 coming. Please continue tho. Im sure some of you will come up with a valid idea instead of just complaining about it.

The bulk of the influx in players in Feast is not due to the removal of chat, it's because of the event. Without the event, Feast would be dead. Majority of Aether Top 100 was active until 3.5, then chat was banned and it came to an almost immediate halt until a few (3~) began moving.

This is the truth of it, and let the metrics not be mistaken: The Feast and PvP are not suddenly so much more active due to the restriction. They're active purely because it's part of a special event for once (and at least until the Gold Saucer versions are made available), but it's chaotic and arguably less inviting to newer players now due to that restriction.
