Those darker elements don't involve my wife and are just part of a scripted story/game. To me, insults are insults, whether written or spoken. I didn't know it was something you could report. I'll probably start reporting more often and encourage good sportsmanship. I didn't say anything in the chat. I knew if i did id lose my cool and my wife really wanted to win for that Ginga mount. I probably should look over the terms of service again. Thank you for your post.

Any harassment is reportable, and I suggest her hiding chat if it is ruining her game experience. I usually hide chat in PvE because I just want to mindlessly relax when I go into PvE content.

I'm not encouraging or endorsing reporting, but yes, any type of language like you described is absolutely reportable.

The more you pvp the more numb you become to stuff like that and learn how to deal with that nonesense in a manner they would even appreciate.

I'm on the fence about the whole thing, but lets not pretend the majority wanting chat back on these forums have been anything but snarky, rude and impolite. I refuse to believe SE put such a restriction in place if they didn't feel it was an actual problem, a little hamfisted and extreme sure, but it shows it might be bad enough to warrant such an extreme action.

No less snarky, rude or impolite than the current environment of party finder. At least they can somewhat prevent/control the amount of toxity they could potentially spew by getting to lock-out anyone they deem "inexperienced". Not 4v4 Solo, waltz right in and tank other's rank...good luck trying to pull something like that in a "NO BONUS, KNOW ENTIRE FIGHT 30m AFTER LAUNCH, NO BREATHING AND IF THERE IS EVEN THE SLIGHTEST POSSIBLE MISTAKE INSTANT DISBAND!!!" party. Back in LoL, the common saying was:"Report and move on."

So yeah, just keep quiet in the game and do that, ideally right after the incident. Feel free to do multiple reports on the same person if the person is consistently a D-bag, more evidence makes for easier GM judgement. But keep the detailed description crisp and on point - Some people are writing entire novels there, which only slows GM work down >_>

1.because multiple people have been through 3 SEASONS of experience of the environment and community and know how people react. there are never any toxic players because by the time you hit within a certain rank. that type of attitude is non-existent almost. That fact that you said you just started pvping in 3.5, you have no knowledge of what everyone has been going through within the feast but you apparently agree with the chat ban because of your wife's experience in frontlines. So in way, your post is just funny because you never went through anything that is even close to being "toxic" in PvP

Sorry didn't realize you wouldn't understand the whole comment of "suck a d*ck" would mean. The reason why we don't have to turn chat off in frontlines is abuse is easy to kick and replace or even win with one less player.

The other point is you keep bringing up other party formats in the game. Those modes have downtime and ability to boot someone, that feels the need to spend five minutes telling people they need to do various sexual acts. Feast does not work that way. I would prefer that SE would post names and brand people with irremovable titles that don't use chat properly. People have no fear of how they act and it feels like half the people think it is right,acceptable,merited (pick a word).

It is rare to see a kick passed in the name of "lets get this done" Esp when it is a 4 person PvE and the person is a tank.
