Yo, do you often expect everyone else in your party to be incompetent and constantly taking unnecessary damage for the entire dungeon run? The only person that should ever need it is a tank.
My life while tanking is an existential hell from which there is no escape.
How does not using Protect require you to have to regen every member of your party every 21 seconds??? Using regen like that is the inefficient part.

I agree completely (I even said it's not efficient in the post you quoted!), but I was replying to the person who said "Regen is enough" as an excuse for not putting on Protect to cover all players in one quick motion.
But, regen on the tank is more than enough with or without protect, any damage the party may take an aoe heal/regen covers it. You also don't have to refresh regen constantly, especially in dungeon level difficulty.

Yes... and it wasn't me who said that you should. The person I originally quoted was the one who thought regen was an acceptable replacement for casting a single spell. I've been talking about how crazy it is to constantly cast regen on all players just to maintain a similar effect to casting protect once. Yes most players shouldn't be getting hit and yes you shouldn't need to be constantly recasting regen even if they were, but the point I've been trying to make (and failing epicly?) is that if you're not going to cast protect for whatever reason it will likely then require casting more healing spells in the process to make up for that.
