The New Chat Restriction in The Feast

forgive me, but forbidding to speak in feast basicly showing SE has weaken or at least less confidences in a greater control on pvp

for me I 'm now plat rank there r some general rules or something knowlage in common in higher rank matches, but I can't imagine what would be going on in lower rank, I know SE made this change for encourage ppl playing feast , but it will complatelely turning it to a wrong way, new players will not have any (or very slow) improvement and lose interest in this environment. 1 season or 2, feast will be nolonger feast, only some snacks

Add forced censorship if harrassment is so bad. Make it a bunch of ?????
We have all cursed in the heat of the moment or lost our cool one way or another, but a bunch of ???? across a screen is meaningless and kinda funny.
If someone tries to get around it and takes takes the time to type profanity with periods or spaces between letters, then report them. First time offense gets a temp ban from pvp or something, then take it from there.

Personally I see this action happen because GMs are unable to handle all the reports and release fitting punishments to everyone.

It's also likely that they are simply too lazy (or under-maned, as a much more forgiving person would assume) to monitor or investigate every complaint.

When it comes to PvP, SE has largely left the policing of illicit behavior to the players. Someone hacking? Report them with evidence. Found a glitch? Report it with evidence. Someone being mean or vulgar in chat? Report them ... with evidence. We've seen a HUGE number of these reports right here in the forums, especially in regards to cheating or hacking. The problem is that SE often turns a blind eye to our reports, they same way they often turn a blind eye to our complaints or suggestions (kinda like right now). It is a trend that has never instilled a lot of confidence in their level of commitment to their own game.

That problem is far worse when it comes to chat abuse, because what one person considers "chat abuse" is often a very subjective opinion. Some players are simply more sensitive to criticism than others, and SE has to sort out the real complaints which warrant attention from the ones that are an over-inflated grievance caused by a fragile self-esteem. Going through each complaint individually and passing a reasonable judgment on a case by case basis would be a lot like real work. By comparison, it's far easy to just slap everyone with the same punishment and continue turning that blind eye to the situation. The fact that they have blatantly ignored significant points of conflict, such as 3rd party chat options, player opinion and enjoyment, new players, and even their own mentor system is just proof that this was a slip-shod and ill-conceived idea that was implemented to avoid reallocating limited human resources ... ie: they chose the quickest, easiest, and laziest option, regardless of whether or not it was the right one.

Funny thing is, there is already a profanity filter. People turn it off and open themselves up to such language. I think what should be done is to place players who act negatively to others in PVP in a toxic player pool that locks them out of using chat in PVP after warnings or so many offenses.

They should implement a way to mute people during any content in the game. If someone is harassing you report them and mute them so you no longer can see any of their text. Taking chat out of Feast completely ruins it, I mean something as simple as asking for a heal is damn near impossible.

Seriously, though. People in 8v8 were always pretty chill. The only salt I ever saw was in Ranked, and sometimes it was justified. When I first started in ranked and I was new, I asked a lot of questions before matches and actually got a lot of advice from more experienced players that helped me get where I am now. Online resources are nichey and hard to find sometimes, so what better way to learn than to ask your team what you can/should do for them?

Now that learning opportunity is gone, as are a lot of finer details.

Like my old Holmgang macro. I used to have one for PvP that was "Holmgang on <t>, help me focus them!"

Or Black Mages with Repose "Sleep on <t> don't touch them!"

You can't. Do stuff like that anymore. And it really, really cripples a lot of abilities.

All of this is only further mounting proof that SE cannot handle PvP. They do not know how to manage it. They've bitten off more than they can chew and only continue to grossly mismanage it, as they have thus far with the removal of PvP materia (which you can still buy, even though it literally does not work!), and the nerf/removal (it's still there, it just has literally no function) Morale stat.

They're scrambling. They have no fucking idea how to manage this so they're just shutting everything down. Honestly, as someone who enjoys PvP, I feel like an unwanted stepchild to the Devs.

Hopefully, we can band together and all ask this for the next Q+A at EU fanfest. I'm sure it will be ignored, and things about bunny outfits being cross gender will be answered, but we should at least try.

Getting a bit wedew when I get paired with 2 healers, dps and no tanks.

1 healer all dps no tanks.

All dps, no tanks no healer.

7 DPS 1 Tank no healer. .

Another big problem with this is that even with what limited use we do have with this 'feature' (I call it that with heavy sarcasm), people will not understand, WHY these calls are being made, or what they mean.

For example, I just lost a match in the last 2 seconds. Aggravating as hell.

I spammed the "Fall back!" command 6 times before our MCH died and tipped the scales because they stood there and let the other team hammer them, forfeiting our marginal lead in the last 2 seconds.

My old "Time's almost up, we are leading! Run away!" worked a hell of a lot better. People responded to that.

Want to know why?

Because people understood why that call was being made. They saw the reason, they understood it, and they acted.

This new system is vague, and honestly causes more irritation than anything.
