SE, please read the first amendment.

complete and utter garbage
Are you saying that the people who have been consistently playing pvp...are now only playing pvp to "farm new players"? Those people would play pvp whether there were noobs or not.Cool to know you're thin skinned.
You know fully well what you and your comrades are doing going into 8v8 the way it is currently. To get fast wolf marks off the backs of newer players to pvp so I dont want to see excuses since anyone would do what you do in your position and own up to it rather then play a victim. PvP is about picking the most bursty classes rather then actual skill. Maybe I wouldn't be so jaded if my main (BLM) wasn't so gimped in feast the way it is. But lets keep this on the topic of chat and not what players think of others.
Also, blackmage is extremely high damage, but it requires a high level of skill and game sense. I'd just try getting better.
You know it's kinda sad when SEs solution to bad implementations is to literally double down on the bad. And that's exactly what they've managed to do with the chat restriction.

Cute. Call my skill in question. Play blms in pvp for awhile in 4v4 and 8v8, see how defeated you feel you cant do what every other class can cause SE gimped us with nerfed swiftcast damage, nerfed flare, nerfed nightwing duration, and nerfed aoe sleep. Are you saying that the people who have been consistently playing pvp...are now only playing pvp to "farm new players"? Fix it SE. Its gonna be even more dead then it was before this event if chat is kept off. The only ones that will be left playing are the feast season no lifers that shut everyone else out once they reach an acceptable rank. Maybe balance pvp skills/rankings/progresion to where all classes can enjoy it but work on correcting your mistake with chat first. I can only hope in 4.0 they will do a slight overhaul of the system.
You admit to having a frustrated opinion, and that's entirely normal. But you don't know me well enough to assume anything close to what you said. It's not that I enjoy stomping out newbies; I don't. I enjoy playing with friends or a team I can communicate with, and FYI, I haven't been in a Feast match with a friend since the patch dropped. With 7/8 not really knowing what to do or what's going on, that simply puts me in a really bad spotlight for being the one guy who DOES know what's going on, and believe me, it's not fun being that guy. Especially when I can't effectively advise or inform my team.
As it stands now, if it takes the Feast dying for SE to fully wake up and realize what they did was wrong - ESPECIALLY when the community spoke up against it well ahead of time - then I hope it's a swift and sudden death. They need to know this was entirely the wrong move to make, whatever possible reason they made it. Until then, the fault doesn't lie with players for relying on each other, and it's wrong to imply that.
Lastly, they are correct about BLMs. They have historically been a strong job in PvP, and it seems like even with every attempt to tone them down and balance them out they STILL remain almost too powerful. But they, in fact, are a VERY technical job to play in PvP. I'm not criticizing your skills either, but when you make statements calling skilled players "no lifers" that does throw it into question somewhat.

PVP feels so shallow now and it's incredibly frustrating trying to communicate anything it's like why bother. Like they've actually managed to make PVP worse at this point by removing this. I think I'm just gonna grind out the mounts and call it with PVP altogether at this point it's just not meant to be in this game imo. Luckily this event will be easy to grind out the rest of the stuff. It's literally run in and hit stuff and hope you win at this point.

I'ts absolutly horrible now. I expected SE to ruin the feast but I didn't expect the new features to be so clunky and dull. There is absolutely no way to give tips to newcomers now, absolutely no way to coordinate burst damage on targets etc. Its beyond me, why SE punishes entire playerbase with this nonsense, instead of punishing those who deserve it.
Black Mage is still incredibly powerful in the right hands, even with those changes. I would put it at the middle of the pack in terms of balance, if not slightly above.

I'm trying to do my rank up qualifiers right now and having no chat is KILLING me....
S/O to the DRG who kept running in over and over and dying repeatedly. Thank you!
If we can't communicate in a team-based collaborative mode, at least give us more options like:
"Group up!"
"I need healing!"
"I am out of cooldowns!"
"I need MP!"
"Focus the marked targets!"
But I still firmly believe that this shit does NOT work. Just lost a qualifier because I couldn't direct my team at all. Enemy MNK had 2 stacks of Heavy Medal. I marked them as Target To Attack 1.
Spammed your stupid macros in combination:
"Attacking Melee DPS!"
"Get the medals!"
Did anyone listen? Hell no. No matter how many times I flashed it.
Just kept going for the BRD with pennies beside their name hurr hurr.
This system. Does. Not. Fucking. Work.
