What I'm getting to is, I noticed after I've given constructive responses in response to the one's who've replied to my previous one's. You guys tend to. . . Succumb to anger and make a deliberate mess of yourselves by saying such things as "balmung cat" "yaoi" "Citation: every post you've made after the original" "Oh be sure guys not to derail! WOOPS!" etc etc. By all means show the online world your true colors.


If I'm ever in the wrong I would like you to show me what is it that I did and why you felt that way.

The just because I said so approach is not gonna make me move a step forward to you.

I've gone ahead and reported the topic for epic derailment as this has just descended into people responding and OP passively aggressively saying they're wrong.

My contribution to the thread is as follows:

I would literally have to quote every post you've made after the original and explain why you're refusing other people's arguments without actually refuting them. It'd be a waste of time because, after doing that, you'd plug your ears and go back to it.

Let me sum up my arguments for you and everyone who might be interested in a debate - for the sake of completion, I will include points related to the Eternal Bond-system, since thats what the thread was originally about.
I will however, devide this into two parts - so, please note that the OP doesnt want to discuss the EB-part anymore.

1. Matchmaking to marry!
- risk of turning the system into "just another quest I'll do because the game tells me to" - recently its something you and your partner choose to do for yourself (wether its about a real connection or just getting the items)
- risk of randomly pairing up minors with guys/girls (to be fair here) who have something else in mind than just getting a new mount to ride - with an official match making system SE either has to block this option for minors (and make you confirm your age) or take responsibilty for things like that happening. Neither seems ideal to me - and even if we can say that things like that may already happen in game once in a while, the enviroment of a marriage would make it more likely
- SE is running a video game, even if its an MMO, even if it "requires" interaction with other people, not a dating service (and again: this game is rated 12, at least in germany, I'm not enterily sure about PEGI right now)

2. Find me a friend, SE!
- There are several systems in place to help you find people you might share a common interest with - ingame its mainly the partyfinder. I'm trying not to be rude here, but honestly those post with all those empty spaces were not so easy and pleasent to read, so I'm sorry if I missed the actual explantion why we need another system to help you find someone to play with? (if I did, I would be glad if someone would quote the section - if I didnt missed it, I would be glad to hear an explantion)
- We have linkshells, FCs - and before we add a personal "find a friend"-system, we might actually get some sort of ls/fc-application-board. The need for something like that seems to be a lot higher than for what you propose (I see FC-shouts every day, but rarely "I need a friend"-ones - even though, they also happen, when someone just transfered server. And from what I can see, PF is already doing the trick for those people)
- SE's "job" as the company running this game is mainly to make sure you can play the game - as harsh as this might be: again, they're not a "dating" service - "dating" in quotes because this also apply to finding you a friend. Its simply non of their buisness.
- thus: why wasting ressources on such a system? And why clutter the ingame menus with yet another one?

A last and rather personal but still serious note from me: Finding a person to become friends with is the easier part about the mission "relationship" (meaning: any kind of relationship here - friends, lovers, static, buisness partners...). Maintaining a relationship is the actual difficult part. Building a relationship is nothing this game can or should do for you. As much as I really understand the wish for having friends, doing this in a game and getting matched by the games company doesnt seem like a great way to find someone. (And yes, I might be oldfashioned here - and yes, I dont have to use it - but why create a system that will probably lead to a lot of frustration?)

So... all in all - please explain to me why we need a system specially to make friends in this game when we already have a bunch of tools that help us to meet people, if we desire so?

Oh and... telling everyone who doesnt agree with you to just leave isnt a good way to have a debate - I dont seem to be the only one getting the feeling that you're rather hostile and rather throwing out passive-aggressive replies instead of real arguments and having a proper debate. But thats non of my buisness - I've presented my points and I hope thats enough to show why I consider such a system useless at best, harmful at worst.
