Oooooh! Cool, a future reader. While you're here can you please tell me the lotto numbers for next week? And tell me all the neat stuff that's gonna happen in the future? and when we get hoverboards? Pleeeeaaassse~?

The amount of projection and "I know exactly how this is gonna go!" coming out of this thread again...sheesh people. Chill.

Citation please. So far the only things in this statement we know is that the battery life is dependent on the title, and the price and $300 is not that much, that is $100 LESS then the PS4's starting price. No where in the presentation did they sit down and explain the specs other then hard drive space, and overall the specs are still mostly under wraps it seems. Cause every article posted within the last 5 hours, that claims to have the official specs, is still just speculating. So, I'm sorry, not seeing how your statement here holds any water.

    Did someone say hoverboard?

    and this

Super cooled electromagnets and super conductors are a bit exotic though, so maybe not a mass market device just yet.

Switch is hitting me the same way WiiU did - except saying WiiU over and over does at least remind me of Dr WHo. Though I guess if I say switch over and over with a Japanese pronunciation it might remind me of Sword Art...soooo....

Many analysts were suggesting a price of $250 with the feeling being that $300 was at the upper end of the potential price point for what is in most respects going to be used as a mobile gaming platform. PS4 (not the Pro) is very, very likely to get a price cut to $250 in the near future. Sony have been running game bundle deals which value the core console at $250 since before thanksgiving. That, and the cost of accessories puts Nintendo Switch into the "too expensive for it's own good" department.

The battery life depends on the game and the range given is 2.5 - 6 hours, with the Zelda game gobbling it in 3 hours, anything else as intensive or more so than Zelda will do no better. The screen is 720p, suggesting a relatively weak GPU component when most tablets sport 1080p or greater resolutions, and the comparatively short battery life also suggests that whatever is inside the case is not so efficient if it is lasting 3 hours or less for a 720p presentation of a game. Which pretty much covers the under-powered point.

It's just not a winning proposition to me, and the relative lack of horsepower will cause it to suffer with regard to 3rd party games (not exactly new to Nintendo), like WiiU did. I have no desire to see Nintendo fall, but this was not a good launch for them - IMHO. As Sony has found, Mobile gaming is not about a hand held console when smart phones and tablets have more CPU/GPU and memory than a handheld console does.

I see your point, I don't fully agree with it. I don't believe the screen running at 720p is indicative of much, I think that is reading into it for a confirmation bias. It could be an overall design choice to have the screen run 720p in order to give the GPU room to put its power to better use elsewhere. The other issue with the tablet comparison is that most tablets that can put out a 1080p or higher resolution, are not designed to play full games like Breath of the Wild, so they would suffer rather equally in both graphics and battery life. On the battery life, it is mentioned that those are estimates given and not the official times (Could be more, could be less.)

Overall though, I see the points you are making and with the points I'm making, I just think we'll butt heads endlessly. So for the time being, until much more info is given. I'd say agree to disagree. Cause overall there isn't much to actively go on, and it would all just be speculation or educated guesswork. Cause so far, from my perspective it seems like Nintendo is coming out guns blazing for the Switch launch. The only thing that could have shown that more is if a new pokemon was released on the Switch at launch too but that would likely undercut Sun and Moon right now.

Also those hoverboards are neat but not the Marty Mcfly hoverboards I'm looking for, so disappointed on that front.
