    I think it relates back to how times use to be. If wanted something had to work for it, now days get a reward just for showing up.

    That's because there's more choices for almost everything and anything now-a-days, whether it's work or play. Benefits like having to work less for the same amount, getting better rewards for the same amount of work, or getting free gifts are ways to entice people.
