It's sad to see how society has degraded. People want rewards for just showing up now; examples include the infamous Perfect Attendance award. It's no longer expected that people show up everyday and work hard... we have to incentivize them to do so. It has become so bad that now people feel entitled to such rewards.

This is in no way simple criticism of your suggestion but an assessment of our social mores and what is commonly believed to be right. People have really changed. Looking at the political climate and our society's priorities, I wonder if it's for the the better.

A Log-in each day reward system doesn't sound very bad at all to be honest, so long as it sticks to current reward system style of rewards which are purely cosmetic and do not give players an economic or gameplay edge. Minions, Glamours, and Mounts all sound rather nice. Maybe a way to buy the Mogstation dyes and outfits and the like, as an alternative to spending money. Would even be nice to see limited time items added to this Veteran Shop for past event items.

Daily login rewards are for mobile/facebook games because you won't spend more than 15 minutes on those games (because of their lack of giving you real interest and/or because of daily play time limits). So, it's there to give you an incentive to play their f2p crap of game (and by the way to milk you on their cash shop).

It's useless for MMOs because the common time spent on a MMO to feel a bit of progression is one hour and more. People won't play to a MMO because there is a daily reward.

daily log-in rewards are just a cheap and easy way of dressing up retention numbers for record purposes. It also goes against Yoshi's design philosophy; he doesn't want people to ever feel they NEED to log in, whether daily roulette or weekly cap, nothing is ever meant to make you feel obligated to log in if you don't want to. That's why so many catch-up methods are in place and why the bare minimum will never require too high level gear. He urges people to take breaks when they feel they need to and return at their discretion. The game is always here for them. His one thing to reward the players who've enjoyed playing so long and being committed to the game is in the form of the veteran rewards. And now that so much time has passed it too will be undergoing a change so that newer and newer players don't feel bad when they see how long it would be to attain the later rewards.

I don't mind a daily log in system. It's nice to feel rewarded for playing.

Agreed, sad truth is some feel just attendance is justification for reward. Just like many game companies feel it's justified to release unfinished games and massive day one patches to fix a full price purchase, to say nothing of later DLC...

I recall a time when playing at a harder difficulty setting unlocked more game features. When careful exploration of a level/ environment could unlock a whole new experience within the game (Castlevania: Symphony of the Night).

However i would be lying if i said realistically with job, family, social life, and other commitments such things would be hellish to try to implement in this day and age. In saying that, i still would not want a feature as the OP put forth. Such a thing is un-needed in a subscription based MMORPG. Better to leave pandering of that level to f2p and b2p MMO's. FFXIV offers enough content as it stands, why else would talks of jump potions be a thing if there wasn't enough?

If what FFXIV does not have the content your looking for, there are plenty of other MMO's handing out there gold sticker attendance prizes in their f2p/ b2p offerings.

This is a criticism of the suggestion and an assessment of our social morals and what is commonly believed to be right. People have really changed, looking at the political climate and our society's priorities, I worry for the future.

Rank 14 is the final rank. It's the Squall outfit that was just featured in 3.5 trailer.

The daily log in points rewards that you get from Final Fantasy 11. They're by no means free you have to save up and decide what you want in order to get the item that you want. And most of the items that are offered aren't things that will make you all powerful and stuff a lot of it's just simple items like the beastmen seals and sit through and items to summon the NM for certain mobs. And there is the Spotlight item which is usually a mount each month that they implement. And Final Fantasy 11 is still subscription-based game so it won't break anything or make people feel they have to log in each day unless they want to get item items from daily login rewards which again aren't free, you have to save up points in order to get them depending on what you want

I don't think we need a daily login reward but I would mind one... >w>

Why not do a compromise like increasing the amount of tomes and gil you get from the roulette bonuses by a small amount based on the number of days you logged in before the weekly cap resets? That way, people will still have to do things to get the reward and be better rewarded for continuously doing the same thing over and over again until the next patch.
Then add more cosmetic things you can spend tomes on (glamour, housing items, mounts, etc), maybe even have month-exclusive rewards and rewards that periodically cycle through?
I would probably focus more on older tomes like Poetics or, when 4.0 comes out, Scripture, seeing as they probably going to stay and start to build up. I would also increase their caps, maybe like 10,000 and making the rewards cost scaled accordingly.

As people have mentioned, there are daily roulettes.

Other incentives to log in every day include:
    Beast Tribe quests
    Supply and Provisioning Missions
    Squadron Missions
    Mini Cactpots
    Timeworn Map gathering
    Daily Hunts
    Reset 18-hour Retainer Ventures
    Use 6 Levequest Allowences
