those who dont play could have all the garbage that is ifrit and strong holds ifrit is cool but should have been for casualsI'm okay with distantly-spaced pops, to a point. The spawn conditions should be predictable and accessible, not that "MAYBE POPS for 30 seconds every 30 minutes for 3 hours exactly 24 hours after it was last defeated" BS. It was entirely focused at creating obsessive habits and paranoia at missing the one day it mattered - it was a gambling addiction and, frankly, kind of insulting to people that didn't play the game all day every day.

I couldnt be more against the free-roaming, long pop wait times lioke they used to be in XI.
If you wanna put HNMs in the game, do it like Ifrit or Batraal where they are instanced and repeatable and dont involve standing around for 72 hours HOPING you will get the chance to fight it. That system is terrible.
Dev team has been doing a great job so far, and I hope they keep up the good work =) Just please dont institute the open world waiting for 72 hours to hopefully claim a mob against pop competition, that system is AWFUL.
Man, remember that one NM in Valkrum dunes that dropped some exceptional gear for that level? But you had to wait 6 hours for him to pop? And then you were 0/16 on that item? Boy that sure was fun!
This game does not need more time sinks. You FFXI players complained when getting a Chocobo in FFXIV was too easy (because it was so hard in previous FF games, amirite?) and we got an 8 hour series of fetch quests for a chocobo.
This is 2011, we don't need time sinks in an MMO, we need fun. I've had more challenging encounters in FFXIV than FFXI, it's not a matter of how much time you're putting into the game, it's actually got some hard as shit fights, without being an endurance run. Ifrit (Hyper) is really difficult to take down, but he's like, what? A 10-30 minute fight?
I'm happy with the 5-15 minute respawn, it's quick, and painless. Don't ruin a good thing.
