Spoken like a true clueless dolt that have never raided in Alexander before.

You obviously didn't heal in Gordias Savage.

Except it started in ARR when people figured out the potential of their classes. You don't have to keep everyone at full hp all the time. Tanks don't have to stay in tank stance for the whole instance. And I find it funny that most people complaining about these are pretty bad themselves.

wao this guy, go do A1S - A4S synced and then tell me what healing was like lol. I'll give you a hint, A1S had Prey, A2S had Prey, A4S needed healers to do balls. There were TONs of mechanics, not only that, if you were one of those 100% healer types, you were not clearing Gordias full stop.

i wish more people felt that way. what's the point of using a regen if you're not gonna let the regen do its job? or when people throw a cure if even a single hit point was lost on somebody i kinda die inside.

Let's not be dramatic. You know that's not what's being suggested, and I'm not speaking only of my own position. Many in favor of active, multi-faceted healer gameplay have straight-up advised others to make sure that their healing requirements are satisfied as they learn to weave in DPS.

Uh... what? Gordias Savage had such massive DPS checks it was literally impossible for the DPS jobs to actually meet them if healers didn't contribute. At least upon release. This eased only very slightly once people had some 210 gear. There's a reason even the likes of Elysium took five weeks to get their first clear.

This is correct. And except for tank busters, the damage that tanks took were so low that healers could effectively DPS with impunity

Adlo is nice though as gives some breathing room for it's physical damage,. Not everyone is 240+ in these normal modes either, so HP pools/damage/cooldowns vary.

I don't think you raided Gordias Savage as a healer. I'd argue the healing checks in Gordias were 2nd most difficult in Alexander.

A1S was prey city. DPS got it twice, more brutal than the A11N one. Then you had large splash AoE damage, two DPS prey again, tank cleave, and tank buster.

So yeah A1S at minimum item level with mostly i180 and Ravana weapons was a heal check, and it still did require healer DPS to push through in the first week. Groups that brought 0 healer DPS were stuck at faust.

A2S wasn't too bad, tank preys meant you had to ensure they were topped-off before they expired. So we had prey here too. This floor also tested your MP battery capabilities.

A3S was a lesson in pushing your raid limits, healer aggro/co-healer management. Cause you were certainly not going to have your MT be in Grit or Shield Oats for long in that fight with STR accessories if you actually wanted to clear it. Last phase Cascade damage and x6 splash can be heartburn.

A4S where just about every group including ours, lets the straf dolls explode. A lesson in that you were going to lose all your MP anyway, might as well toss that damage to beat the DPS check and save your refresh cool downs/potions when you drop to 0 MP. Healers also ate all the yellow balls in each phase they appeared. So yeah don't tell us how slack we are.
