    What do you guys think?
You have the luxury of playing all jobs to 60, not the luxury of gearing all of them at once. This is broken on so many levels. Just remember the limitations are not there just for the hell of it. You can't just get all of your ilvl260 gear in a day and be ready for raiding. You are just blowing through content and a patch's longevity is severely lowered than it already is.

Making an uncapped tome stone system would mean they would have to greatly increase the amount of tomes required for a piece. Which in turn means even more grinding, and people will get sick of that real fast. More so than it currently is.

SE by the odd patch at least gives you more opportunity to gear multiple jobs anyways. Primals, 24-man, Diadem (well in 3.55 anyways), normal mode raids, crafting, and so on.

The rebuttal is by restricting people as they do leads to their eventual decline in interest. Those dedicated enough will level a serperate job anyway or simply unsub once they've exhausted all the new content because they don't want to pay for several weeks before they can reasonably take in a second or third job. Case in point, Specialists and red scrips were designed solely to limit omni-crafters. The response? People leveled an alt to by-pass the restriction and red scrips were eventually abandoned due to it being a complete mess.

Because there is a benefit on a economical level on having an alt that can omni-craft. That is not the case with multiple jobs. It is a good thing you can't omni-craft on each class on one character.

Also I can guarantee you people will burn out faster doing a endless feeling of grind over a cap each week. Also I am under a firm belief you -shouldn't- be able to just have the top level gear on each job. Before you pull the "not everyone grinds out" argument, game balance should also be taken into consideration. Getting the 2nd best set for raids right at the start kills other content such as crafted gear, normal mode raid gear, and can be difficult to balance with odd patch gear.

Again, there is a reason a cap on tomestones exist. Anyone who thinks the Armory System encourages you to get the highest gear possible on all jobs will be disappointed.

PS: Yes just having it uncapped is a form of entitlement that the community does not deserve.

Actually, by limiting the market, Specialist server to make the rich, richer in most cases.

Depends on the system which replaces it. Allowing people to gear up additional jobs to their main can still come with restrictions. Perhaps only one job can reach ilvl 275 or something to that effect? Crafting could easily be tied enhancing gear-- with odd numbered patches removing whatever cap they do put. People typically grow bored with tomestone capping because progress is extremely static. I'm well aware weekly limitations are necessary. That doesn't mean they cannot improve upon the system as time goes on.

And no, it isn't. That's silly logic. People wanting to gear up additional jobs so they can take them into savage without hindering their party isn't entitlement. It's saying, "I want to play the game more, just on a different job." Considering the sheer difficulty of savage serves to gate most player's progression. The odd numbered patches also have this to fall back on.
