Just from the video it makes me think along the lines of Monk, but instead of positional we have spacial combos, I guess would be the word? I know I am looking forward to it in the end but then again I am also bored of all the current DPS we have.

Personally waiting to see what the rotations and abilities are like before I get excited, Yoshi absolutely ruined bard and blackmage with heavensward, I will be shocked if redmage is any different, will just be more absurd mechanics and stances, buffs etc to maintain that raise your blood pressure and decrease your fun.
Ruined is a pretty strong word. Some of us actually prefer a non faceroll playstyle for our mains, thanks.Personally waiting to see what the rotations and abilities are like before I get excited, Yoshi absolutely ruined bard and blackmage with heavensward, I will be shocked if redmage is any different, will just be more absurd mechanics and stances, buffs etc to maintain that raise your blood pressure and decrease your fun.
That can't be right. Summoners are the ones who ruins everything. Unless... Yoshi is a Summoner D:Personally waiting to see what the rotations and abilities are like before I get excited, Yoshi absolutely ruined bard and blackmage with heavensward, I will be shocked if redmage is any different, will just be more absurd mechanics and stances, buffs etc to maintain that raise your blood pressure and decrease your fun.
And some people prefer "faceroll" style play. Your style of jobs already existed, but theirs doesn't anymore.
On the other hand it shocks me how many people are against the level 50 start. Do you people realize that the leveling numbers are completely arbitrary? 50-60 takes about as much time as 1-50. You're still going to be taking just as much time going from 50-70 as 30-60. Yay for no more grinding low dungeons!
I would personally find the class interesting, if it has ranged comboes with cast times, but some high potency melee-range ogcds. It would enable play from ranged for casual play, but doing high DPS would require to study the fights and get up-close-and-personal with, the bosses as well.
Be as it may though, I wish we see some innovative design in 4.0 overall.
Their battle stance and victory pose are so fabulous.
"BAAAAAARD!" - 2018
As a pre- and post-HW Bard main, I'll have to say changes for both Bard and Blackmage were necessary. As a Bard, I could just carry through entire fights of doing mechanics with nearly no DPS loss at all. BLM rotation was apparently really babymode in 2.x as well.Personally waiting to see what the rotations and abilities are like before I get excited, Yoshi absolutely ruined bard and blackmage with heavensward, I will be shocked if redmage is any different, will just be more absurd mechanics and stances, buffs etc to maintain that raise your blood pressure and decrease your fun.
If they wanted to keep Bard as was, they would have had to change the way they design fights entirely to restrict the players' control over who deals with mechanics. Obviously the easier choice of the two was to change Bard, than design entire fights around a Bard trivializing whole mechanics.

Ah, yes, 50 BLM rotation... F3-F1-F1-F1-F1-F1-B3-T3-F3 repeat! Last I remember, that was pretty much all a blm had to do to do high numbers.
I'm pretty sure there's still people that complained even that was too hard...
