I'm just wondering whether the weapon will be 2 separate pieces like paladin, or bundled together like ninja. If it's separate, = more glamour option? =)

So incredibly excited for Red Mage. Looks amazing based on the video they showed. However, I really hope it is not separate weapons like PLD.

With jobs like Warrior and Dark Knight I understand them being only one weapon (big f off axe/sword respectively, same for Dragoon and their spear), but MNK, NIN... why not make them separate? Maybe make it so to use abilities though you MUST have an off-hand equipped? Astrologian and that thing they wear on their belt area, perhaps that could be an off-hand too? And RDM... make his caster abilities require the OH equipped? It brings more glamour options and opens up more opportunities for customisation. If you want to use the same style MH and OH you can, if you want to use different MH/OH you also can. I see it as opening more options and can only be a good thing.
White Mage ~ Sage ~ AstrologianBoi if you got kicked for the same thing in over 20 duties I strongly suggest you think hard on whatever the hell it is you're doing
As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.
Didnt watch the livestream so maybe someone who did can answer me this : did they mention something about what mainstat redmage will get or which gear he is wearing?
Assuming its classified as a ranged job with red magic it may be Int , but for the melee part with the fast jumping in and out and for the overall aesthetics a dex-melee armor would make more sense than a huge robe ^^

I'd be pretty dissapointed if it was one weapon, personally. It's a hell of a lot more limiting, especially outfit wise.
We have different opinions on what constitutes fun. Simply having the entire spread available from the get-go bores me, as there's no long term goals to accomplish and no new things to find and explore, rather, there's nothing new. Simply having everything unlocked with 0 effort is about the least engaging way I can think of to play any class-based game. I don't understand why you think it's OK for games to coddle their players and hand out participation awards for everything? Heaven forbid players ha e goals to aspire too.

Lol. I'd hardly count giving folk ready access to all classes as "coddling". There are plenty of goals to work toward in the game that don't revolve around such a fundamental choice that can so directly impact enjoyment of a game.

I was wondering the same thing when I saw that the crystal was in the other hand. Would be nice to have that red sword and the crystal that shoots off earth elemental energy, or lightning.

True, but it also means potentially having to run things like primals more frequently than everyone else to get both pieces - unless they were guaranteed to drop as a pair.

Guess you'll have to be disappointed then.
