    Suggestions to help make Blue Mage work in this game

    So I've been thinking about this and it has always been said that Blue Mage would just not work in a game like this. But what if Blue Mage learned its traditional abilities the same way every job does in FF14 instead? For example; it could have Goblin Punch at Lv1. Also Blue Mage could work similarly to Tanks in regards to stats; its damage capability could be bolstered by Piety! It could be DPS and have few healing abilities such as White Wind with long cooldowns. It could also have at least 1 ability for each element, such as Aqua Breath, Twister, Earth Shake, etc.

    Just my 2 cents, anyway. Here's to hoping Blue Mage makes it someday!

    If they do BLU (I hope they do), I would want it to tie in with the beast tribes exclusively and have our skills learned from them.

    I really liked the idea of a healing/defensive support based dps. It would go in and out of melee range to deal max damage (gap closer exists.)

    Theories have been floating around that the spider man T-shirt could mean BLU since both Spider man and BLU got their "powers" from being "hit" or "bit" by a creature. Assuming BLU becomes a Tank, as I highly doubt SE is dumb enough to release 2 dps on launch without considering queue times, two things need to occur.

    1. Tanks will get two sets of Fending, divided by WAR/DRK and PLD/BLU respectively

    2. BLU's rotation is formulaic and not rotational.

    Let me explain the latter. Up to now we've been doing the usual 123 or 124 rotation but I imagine BLU to have something like 1 + 2 + 3 = 6 or 2 + 2 + 2 = 6. These variable can be divided into "Level' skill placeholders that the BLU can go and collect chosen skills from monsters. While ultimately the effects will be purely cosmetic to help with balancing with the exception of spells that have a cast bar, each Level has its own potency and effectiveness rate. ex Level 1 "single target", Level 5 "Aoe" As a tank BLU can utilize the most tools if choosing the right monster. Imagine if you had a BLU tank that used Petrifaction on an add trying to kill your healer.

    Ultimately if the user can pick and choose a minimum of 15 monster skills placeholders, with the rest of the job skills being inherent and simple ogcds or "quest reward" monster skills then I think BLU can work in this game.
