I have a sneaking suspicion anyone grabbing an easy button from staples isn't after gathering or crafting though... but that's just an opinion not a fact.
I think the flying makes the whole experience much better. It would take awhile to unlock endgame content quests in the new areas if you can't fly! I think I'm too spoiled with the flying zones x)
