this i don't get, i've died many times as a tank because a healer wastes their mana on attacking, same reason i don't use cleric stance while running dungeons, just seems rather dumb to throw mana reserves away on the slight increase of overall dps over keeping the party alive

that just means you're not good enough as a healer.

u are given shroud of saint for WHM
    luminoferous aether for AST
and almost infinite MP for SCH

learn mana management and you'll be able to dps & heal.

i personaly main healer , and i absolutely really hate!! standing doing nothing when i can actually help my team dps and clear faster.
ofc im expecting my tank to be smart too.use holmgang , use hallowed ground use living dead or other CD's, if u see your healer wont heal you fast enough.
and if after you use all cd and your healer still stand there dps-ing , kick his ass to the curb.

Tank better. If a healer is running into mana issues healing you while DPS'ing you are requiring far too much healing. Look at your gear, cooldown properly, don't stand in bad and learn what a tankbuster is and how to avoid it. Having just dipped my toes into healing I can tell you right now that if I didn't flip to clerec and do some DPS at least half of any boss fight would be spent with my thumb firmly jammed up my backside praying for a respite from the boredom. The only moments of mana terror I've seen so far were when the tank was so egregiously bad that I was tempted to just vote kick them out of the dungeon and heal tank it with my face.

Are you here filling the role of the straw-man level booster before we've even introduced it?

I heard healers can reach about 60% of a dps class's output. (with both playing at max) That being said you won't always have the time to dps, but:

I see your character listed as an Astrologian. In FFXIV for some reason they only say "refresh" in skill tooltips instead of stating "refreshes mana" or "replenishes mana". Luminiferous Aether skill restores your mana. Saint's Shroud (whm skill) restores their mana.
Here's a run-down of Ast tools for managing mana:

    - Luminiferous Aether - Mana regen
    - Lightspeed - Reduces MP cost for spells by 25%
    - Celestial Opposition (to lengthen the time luminiferous gives you mana/lightspeed)
    - Synastry and Collective Unconscious cost no mana while being healing boosts

You might be tempted to treat those skills as emergency skills, but unless you know something tough is coming up, you will want to use them even on mobs leading to boss. Lightspeed lowers your dps, so you ideally use this when the person is taking too much dmg to dps for a while. (and luminiferous has already been used) You can take it off early by right clicking the buff icon. (so you get your dmg back)

Some healers stack regens to passively heal while they're dpsing. So you can use Synastry for the healing boost and then use Diurnal Aspected Benefic + Aspected Helios. That may give you more time to dps, since the regens will keep them up hopefully. (it depends on their gear/skill and your gear and how much they pulled)

This does not mean you won't have to heal for the next 30 seconds or longer however, it's normal (at least with the tanks I get) to need to heal them manually a lot more often than that. So if you only get like 8-12 seconds free, that's normal, even if it feels like little respite.
