Maybe it's just a numbers thing with the chat. Maybe they are just tired of the reports for harassment and feel like removing chat will make the harassment numbers look better in some report for some investor. I don't know. PvP will always be largely ignored in this game. IMO SE has no idea how to make competitive pvp content. Like with the grand company requirement. We let them know in the first week that it was a bad idea. 3 years later the change. I honestly think it was because removing the restriction contradicted the story and SE is all about the story.

Really the only story you need is "They have it, we want it, go get it." Or a variation there of.

They removed restriction cause 4.0 will get us a "big pvp update" where fc restriction wouldn't work.

Devs and/or community reps seem to be a bit active on the forums lately. Please take a moment to read the topic here and offer us some kind of answer, or at least, acknowledgement.
