Same - I want to see FFXIV grow as big as it can get - Yoshi deserves that (^-^)There's still others like Splatoon and Nintendo also acquired the incredibly popular Monster Hunter series. Plus Pokémon, which has always stood pretty firm in terms of popularity.
On topic:
I wouldn't mind having FFXIV on the Switch as long as it wouldn't cause problems in the same ways the PS3 support did. I could deal with cell- phone or tablet like battery life; it's not like most people I know are gone from an outlet in the amount of time it would take to run down. If they would, most people I know carry some sort of way to recharge the battery for their devices. Personally, I've love to have a way to continue to raid during events like FanFest.
It's not that the NDF is bad, it's that you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.
That and you are talking about a console that's gonna be more powerful than ps4 holding back FFXIV
Which in reality you should be talking about how PS4 will be holding back FFXIV.
Everyone seems to be focusing on the console's power, while forgetting something:
FFXIV requires an internet connection to play.
Unless I'm thoroughly mistaken, the Switch doesn't have an LTE chip (you'd need a SIM card and a mobile data subscription to use it).
In order to be mobile with FFXIV on the Switch, you'd need to tether through your smartphone or hijack someone else's wifi.
Technical aspects of the console aside, I think that presents a pretty glaring problem with porting the game to the Switch.

Still a nobody on a forum, of course I am, no one uses their real names or drops information as to who they are. I guess that means that the easiest way to counter someone's argument or information is to call them a no-body, instead of getting into the detail... No matter what I say, no matter how accurate or knowledgeable it is, you can spit at it with "you didn't quote genericgaming.biz" or whatever.
I could claim anything, I could claim to be on a development team working on a Switch game, or an internal design team at Sony, or API specialist for Microsoft. You've have no way to verify it either way, and short of giving personally identifying information I would have no way of verifying it either.
So how about you dispense with the name calling and pay attention to what is being said instead of clinging to overtly optimistic statements from people in who's interests it is, for overtly positive things to be said concerning Switch.
Sure, keep saying that to yourself it if makes you feel better.

Considering Pokémon and its features requiring internet in some form, I doubt the Switch will lack it. That would be a step backwards. O_o Plus, how would the Nintendo eShop even work anymore?

Nice job completely ignoring the actual part of the post, selective reading huh?
LTE != WiFi. LTE is cellular data. WiFi is a localized network access point.
Nintendo's systems have had WiFi since at least the 3DS/Wii, but all of their titles have been playable without an internet connection (meaning, you can take your 3DS on the bus and play Pokémon or Yokai Watch for the several hours it takes to get from LA to Vegas for the Fanfest). You would not be able to play FFXIV in this way on the Switch without some kind of WiFi, either provided by your mode of transport, or by your smartphone.
Taking the Switch on the go seems to be a big draw for Nintendo, so I doubt they'd want a title that requires a broadband internet connection to even load.

I've claimed nothing except information that has surfaced stating the Switch's processing power being on par with the PS4 PRO - you decided to attack me and tell me to get real then proceeded to spend what amounted to an hour at least trying to beat your opinion into everyone's head in here. I think you have issues you need to go work out. =\
The information is out there all over the place and would have amounted to MAYBE 5 mins to ascertain that yes - they're rumors, but they're very well founded rumors from people who're 1 - working on the kits and testing them within the factories and 2 - Coming from developers working on software for the console (^-^)
