I always watch a guide before entering any trial/dungeon, I try my best to have an idea of what is going to happen before I get in there but that doesn't mean I am going to be an expert or remember 100% of it, and I may ask to be reminded of the mechanics, also some video guides are outdated - is it really that big of a deal that people ask for help? I'd rather people ask for help than continuously make the same mistakes over again causing the group to wipe over and over again.

I don't like guides I prefer to figure it out my self as I go in. I only use a guide if I really have to.
walk through video's where never there when that dungeon/trial first came out. People that made them had to figure the fight out as a team in the party. So if they can do it I can to.
They did it in a party where nobody knew the strategy. So if you indeed want to have their experience, you should go in a group where every member doesn't know the fight.

Well in this day and age is very difficult to make a party like that. When it comes to my ply style I'm a quick learner. So I tend to pick up on the fight very quickly. Like I said I only use a guide if I really have to. Just sounds some people ether don't like to explain stuff or just expect people to play the game the same way as they do. Unfortunately not everyone is the same, people have their own play style or some are just lazy and prefer to be handheld through the dungeon. Which to be honest with you that is what I can't stand the most. There is actually trying to play and wanting to learn the macanics with out watching a video and then there's just being lazy.

Personally, I prefer going into fights blind. Nothing wrong with that, so long as you're attentive and are open to criticisms and tips.
Me in a nutshell. Regardless of content, I always wind up spacing out when I watch a guide, which is great for pondering the mysteries of life, but not for learning.

There are dozen of "quick tip" threads opening on Reddit the very day of any patch, breaking down fights mechanics into wonderful bulletpoint lists that anyone can read in 30 seconds.
Anyone getting in a dungeon/raid, saying "strat plz?" is a selfish individual who doesn't care about wasting everyone else's time in order to explain so stuff that is already available in the exact same format on the internet, only a simple Google search away.
The only acceptable way to be taught about a strat is if you're asking for details about something you didn't understand (would it be after a failed first attemp or after reading these "quick tip" guides). For example: "I didn't understand the Megadeath mechanic. Can someone explain it please?", is completly valid.
They're usually not asking for a detailed overview, just for specific things to watch out for. Stuff that can be explained in <30 seconds rather than having to watch a 5-10 minute video.
That's cool. Even people who did that dungeon sometimes forget about some mechanics and need a reminder. At least you are trying to not become a burden to your team mates.
If I am going to run something for the first time I either do it on day 1 or, if It's old content, I go with friends. If none of these are possible, I just read a quick guide to have a general idea of the encounter. Some content doesn't really require to read a guide. Dungeons can be explained in 1 line per encounter and some mechanics are quite intuitive (AoE is bad). 24man content (even though you can get carried here) and 8 man content (trials or raids) involve certain complexity that might require fresh meat to know how it works (a general idea, depending on the type or content).
