If people intend to skip content, they do not subscribe for longer, so thus, SE must make money somehow off those who do not intend to subscribe for longer times, to complete the already expansive MSQ.

That's faulty reasoning, because it implies that every person who would skip would otherwise still stick to the game. That's not necessarily the case - some might quit the game if the mountain to climb becomes too much and they don't enjoy the climb. That would lose SE both the money from the skip and the money from the sub.

It still is a convenience feature, but don't think it's there to cross-subsidize anything :P
