in what universe is skipping actual game content a premium ? If anything SE should give a discount to people wanting to skip stuff.

It's a premium because it is a convenience to those who DO wish to skip the content. If people intend to skip content, they do not subscribe for longer, so thus, SE must make money somehow off those who do not intend to subscribe for longer times, to complete the already expansive MSQ.

I'm really mad about there being no new race. I'm going to get so bored of the ones we have in the next few years.. we really need something new.

That's faulty reasoning, because it implies that every person who would skip would otherwise still stick to the game. That's not necessarily the case - some might quit the game if the mountain to climb becomes too much and they don't enjoy the climb. That would lose SE both the money from the skip and the money from the sub.

It still is a convenience feature, but don't think it's there to cross-subsidize anything :P
