There's a 260 weapon???? What am I doing struggling against this then? How do I go get that instead?

if you read all the posts before, you'd see that ppl already said so
it takes 7 weeks to get the 260wep. you get weekly loot from A12. and use those gears to buy a micro-tome. or you can get micro-tome from A10S (which is far worse than sophia)
From Sophia, you can get 255 weps for all jobs, in a week or less.
260wep is more for ppl who don't want to or can't clear EX/savage content.

Also if you're looking for sympathy on forum, you're in veeeeery wrong place haha. ppl here are like piranhas who will devour you whole, if you're "bleeding"
if you want sympathy, ask FC/LS/Friends this place will only make you feel worse.

In A11S there is a drop that upgrades your shire weapon to 270

Starting November 1st, the next stage of the relic is coming out - likely to be ilvl 270.

you can get upgrade material for wep, in A10S.
and i doubt that relic will be 270, this early. it would make shire weps outdated before 99% of ppl could even get it.
but i'll hold on to my tomes until patch notes, just in case -.- if relic is 270, i won't bother buying shire wep.

The item to get the 260 is in A10S and the upgrade item is in A11S as guaranteed weekly drops upon clear.

@OP I checked your lodestone (truth be told, because I thought you may be trolling us), but then I saw your problem. You're pretty undergeared with some ilvl 225 pieces etc. Try to gear up a bit and replace those, you should have all 250 pretty easily via Alex NM by now. You can at least replace those 225 items with a bolt from A9N and A10N

@Dement See, that's what I was thinking. That if I could clear this, and get my Sophic blade, I'd have the means to start clearing harder content that I was intimidated by before.

Are you looking at my black mage class? I just swapped over real quick to farm for some fleece. My DRK is 238 and that's what I've been using to try and clear this. Though, maybe I should put more gear toward a DPS class. Tanking in raids does tend to stress me out a fair bit and as DPS, all I need to worry about are my numbers and staying out of AoEs.

Also, I've already grabbed a fair amount of Alex pieces, but it's top on my priority list for next tuesday.

Are you looking at my black mage class? I just swapped over real quick to farm for some fleece. My DRK is 238 and that's what I've been using to try and clear this. Though, maybe I should put more gear toward a DPS class. Tanking in raids does tend to stress me out a fair bit and as DPS, all I need to worry about are my numbers and staying out of AoEs.

Dark Knight, 2x 225 accessories, 3x 230, 1x 230 left side and a few 240.

The added VIT from upgrading all these pieces would help you survive those tank busters.

Eh, I did this with less health lol, I wasn't even i240 (think i was around 235-238). Knowing how and when to pop CD's is more important in this fight than your HP pool, up to a point.

Kind of irrelevant. You are not the OP. I am sure you can do this with less HP than the OP can, and I am sure someone else can do it with less HP than you are capable of. What we're trying to do is help the OP get through it though, and it sounds like more HP could be beneficial if (s)he is dying to tank busters.

Honestly the means you need is just the confidence that a clear would net you. You don't really need a Sophic Blade to do it. Frustration happens a lot but you just need to work through it, put your head down and keep trying. Or take a break from it for an hour or two and come back. Sometimes you just need that time to try something different.

Another thing you may want to try is setting up a PF and getting people on your server. Set your expectations (learning past X phase, clear party) and this tends to hold everyone a bit more accountable. You can also then systematically move through people who are holding back a clear if necessary, keep in contact with the ones who perform well and try to give those not performing chances to improve. Just don't use this to make a group to clear it for you and expect them to carry you (a lot of people do this is the only reason I bring it up).

The Gear is fine, only the acc is to low.

The gear is absolutely fine to clear it, but if it was the first time you're doing a current EX primal, creating a larger buffer is probably going to be beneficial to overcome any shorts in ability or confidence.

That would explain alot. Like, the other night, I had SERIOUS issues trying to get threat on Sophia and her adds. This might be why. What should my accuracy be at this level, and, outside of mhachi matter and millions of gil for materia, how should I go about raising it? And what level would be considered "sufficient"?

Get beast tribe materias and meld them on all equips. Since most of your equips will be changed soon, it won't be much of a loss.

I'm afraid I'm not familiar. How would I go about doing this? I've been doing dailies pretty regularly, and never saw materia on the reward list
