Do those items even sell well? I have a ton of the random toys on a retainer.... I take them out on occasion, but I have so many so I tried to sell some on marketboard and they sell for like 50g/each or something. That is basically vendor price so I just kept them.

I do feel bad for people that bought the barding and tried to spike the price but... thems the brakes when trying to spike prices? It can happen. There are risks... But gil is sooooooo easy to make and only once every 6 months is there anything to buy.... I don't get it. /comfort

yes items moed and sold well since items were a one time use. the fact that they made items origionally with a market sellability ad now change that is infact alone a bad choice from SE, because that was an investment choice they gave players for a long term. and now to change that is not fair. what to put it on the mog station? no not fair to players investment

After the event you can't get it from NPC. It isn't like the cheese from the Drybone shop, that is all the year here to sell to everyone who know about that shop with the cheese.
People who missed the event and want the firecrackers can't buy them now at all. This will only result in "please put firecrackers into the cash shop" threads.

Wanna know why for at least one of them *cough*Starlightbarding*cough*?

Can't sell it on the Mogstation if it's being sold on the marketboard.

You speculated, and this time it failed. You live by the sword, and die by the sword.

But people wouldn't sell the item if there weren't a demand for it. It's a little funny that you're railing against someone who is simply providing a service which others desire; or do you think we ought to give the items away for free?

Those of us who hoard event items in order to sell at a later date are sacrificing storage space - arguably the most precious commodity in this game - in order to do so, while those who want to buy these items from us are doing so at a premium in return for keeping their own storage uncluttered. What's the problem with that? You say people are selling items worth 200g for 20k, but if that were true, there would be no profit in it, because people wouldn't pay those prices; an item is worth exactly what another person is willing to pay for it, no more, no less.

You compare sellers to loan sharks, but we're not forcing anyone to pay outlandish prices, or pressuring them into buying our products. We just make a guess as to what someone might be willing to pay for an item; if it sells, great. If it doesn't, well, lower the price and try again.

    sigh

this is exactly what i was looking for in a reply thank you.... no one understands long term profit more than this person gets a thumbs up from me. this is what i am aggravated with due to the fact that when the item came out it didnt have a " market prohibited" status. thus cought my eye as an investment because of the fact that its only around for this event.... which. being a one time use item and the fact that its not (at the time) market prohibited meant profit because demand would go up. demand from the players. and to take that demand make it harder. and at the cost of the players who like me invested gil in a long term investment are now up the creek without a paddle. is kinda poor judgement on SE side because of the fact that there is no way for players like me to get my money back due to a poor judgement on SE side.

You should always be prepared for an investment to backfire.

I can't believe people are demonizing you so much. They're little toys that come around every year. They have ZERO gameplay impact. If someone buys it for 2000% upmarking, then that's because that's what it's worth to the buyer. Nobody is getting ripped off. You're very welcome NOT to buy them from other players. It's not like people were capable of depleting an NPCs stock or something.
