Ok, but my point is that the team who refuses to play does not DESERVE to be above better teams. It is a fault of the system, not the players, but that is a clear issue.
I completely agree that they don't deserve it, but the way this system is set up, without having a large enough diversity of teams in queue no one really deserves the ranking they currently have on the party leader boards, and that goes for everyone.

IMO people should be aloud to make their own teams and duke it out with each other as long as both teams are both even on terms of skill and gear and both teams are actively fighting to win. Anything else to me is considered wintrading/boosting. That being said, while doing this i would expect them to accept any other challanger in the queue. (like how my group encountered 2 other groups during our session and excepted both pops without delay)
But like others have said if my team proceeds to get steam rolled 30secs in (twice :c) , Kudos to the other team but heck no am i gonna stay.
I can't agree. There are teams out there that are undefeated by anyone on their data center (aka: the best) but are lower in points because other teams actively avoid them and will refuse to face them, while arranging games with teams less skilled than them to farm points to bring them to the top.
To be honest, it feels a bit like you are salty that that person is now above you. It's clearly stated that they are organizing 4v4's in a linkshell. I've also had it that we organize some 4v4's on our server with players who rarely/never pvp. We a few matches just for fun, is that wintrading? You're kind of making fun of yourself by posting this and saying they are wintrading because you're butthurt that you aren't nr 1 anymore. And yes, if you get a group that stomps you, it's not fun to keep playing against that group. And the 'wintrader' posted pics of them defeating your group in matches. So that doesn't mean these players are bad. It's not like it was on Chaos where people who lever pvp and aren't good at it get on top. These guys also defeated you a few times, so they aren't really bad.
Even if your team is undefeated, the pool of teams is too shallow and the number of matches too low to draw any meaningful conclusions.I can't agree. salty? butthurt? the guy is rank1 in solo and the team got rank1 last season by playing vs very strong teams as well, i think thats not the case my friend, he has nothing to prove or anything to be salty about. And to make clear these people have never been any close to defeat our team in season. Maybe on preseason right after feast release but lolTo be honest, it feels a bit like you are salty that that person is now above you. Games won in preseason mean jack shite. The latter half of preseason had some of the worst Heavy Medal penalties that caused the silliest slingshot games. Play Koltik's team now in the season.
This is a case of people wanting to claim the top spots without facing the top teams for it. Wintrading might be too strong a word, but queue dodging is not.
If I run into your team again I still don't expect to win since the whole point of the 4v4 premades that we have been doing is not to put all the best players on the same team. If we did that the matches would be unfair and people would stop playing. Generally, our teams will have at least one person who is totally new to pvp with a few other more experienced players. If we run into a team that beats us badly, the question arises if we should disband the teams that we already have and try to make something better. Doing this basically cuts the fun out for four or more people. I think that this is the crux of all the complaining in the thread and the only way to alleviate said complaints would be to keep feeding a clearly superior team or to tell people: "sorry tryhards are queuing fun time is over." I think you can understand the path that most people are going to choose. I hope you can also appreciate how difficult it is to field anything resembling a powerful team on a small server this late into a patch cycle.
By the way, I still have yet to dodge a single queue pop. Though I can certainly admit that most teams will completely fall apart after a few hard losses. The saving grace for me is that losses vs a team of all golds basically loses me no rating since my pug team will always have a vastly lower average rank.
As I have said before the only thing left to blame (other than people not wanting to get demolished) is matchmaking and a lack of more players. Maybe an unranked lvl60 4v4 mode would be a solution but that would likely make the queue times even worse. None of this really matters though since new pve content is finally coming next week.
There's a lot that needs to change in order for anyone to take the rankings seriously:
1) Restrict queuing to a certain window every day, games will pop more and people can't ninja games on the side
2) There should be a ranking decay if you don't get X number of matches in a week to encourage people to keep queuing every week
3) Points gained/lost should not be based on your groups average rank but rather your teams highest player, otherwise you can boost one guy way up with alts. More points from each match should be allocated to the lower ranked team members to slowly even out over time if you swap someone out.
4) If you don't accept a queue that pops, that should count as a loss, no exceptions. Someone missed it because they're in the bathroom? Sucks, but sorry, completely your fault. This prevents queue dodging, if you queue up in ranked, you should be forced to play any team you get matched with.
5) Allow custom match making in next patch for groups to practice, do not reward points for it
6.) [OPTIONAL] Have a tournament at season end to determine final group rankings, use the rankings listed to determine tournament seeding and byes. You're more of a casual pvper and can't devote a day to a tournament?? No problem - ranked competitive team pvp probably isn't for you anyway. A tournament is the best way to determine final ranking... You can't avoid a team, you have all teams present at the same time, you build hype from the community, and you have people watching in spectator mode / along with streams. Also good luck hacking during a official tournament with everyone watching.
Until these changes get made the rankings mean literally nothing
