Since they're "famous" I assume that means they've been there since before the patch?LOL have you guys seen the RMT offering Power Leveling service to people now, I walked around the game for a while to do some pre-requesites for ifrit fight and I saw allt he famous RMT in figaro server who all have the name Fig "insert random name" in like ( fig one fig two fig 3 fig etc) Just power level full group of people on auto follow in multiple areas of the game.
this is so sad. My friends have abused the hell out of this and hit almost all class to 30+ ( one of my friends who started playing got all class to 36 in 2-3 days ). Nothing agaisnt them but SE allowed this to happen and still hasn't fixed it. This reminds me of when he game got released and people got super levels from healing 24/7.
Come on you guys. RMT has always been here and will always be here. It is not a valid argument point anymore.

Right, I see the light now.
RMTs are already a problem, so it doesn't matter that we make it even easier for them instead of harder. I've been so blind.
Not the point. The point is RMT will be there regardless, so why make things less enjoyable for everyone else? Proactivity is futile when it comes to RMT. The only weapon is reaction. Catch them and ban them. Don't modify game mechanics to try and stop them, because it won't work, and you'll end up pissing off more people than you otherwise would.
Ease doesn't come into the equation with RMT. They will do what needs to be done to make money, no matter what restrictions you put in place. It doesn't slow them down.
Take other games as an example, they block all chat before level 10, RMT level to 10, or become aggressive at account compromise.
Again, no matter what, RMT will prevail, so don't even think about them as a reason when it comes to hating on power levelling.
This is the line of reasoning that brought us such wonderful things as: laggy 100% server-side everything and the gather cap. RMT can't dictate your fundamental game design. An RMT will circumvent your annoying blockades while a regular player will be frustrated and quit. Tighter enforcement is the real answer and it's what we've been asking for since day one. Don't give SE a pass for being lazy about dealing with RMT/botters.
Edit: quoted the wrong post oops
You know what this reminds me of: the DRM debate. A lot of people who are for DRM claim that it's not a big deal and that it will help stop the casual piraters and whatnot, but what DRM really does is annoy paying customers and add an additional unnecessary roadblock. People who want to pirate a game will find a way to bypass your DRM anyway, so all it really does is set up this false sense of security for the company's stockholders and developers. This is the line of reasoning that brought us such wonderful things as: laggy 100% server-side everything and the gather cap. FFXIV the anti-RMT simulator has done little to stop RMTs as you have pointed out. It's just made their business more lucrative while hurting the customer base. I hope at some point SE will dedicate more staff to specifically going after the RMT groups and keeping their numbers down to a minimum, but unfortunately there are more pressing issues to address, such as the one in this thread.
Risui provided some good insight into the JP side of the community too. Didn't know they were as evenly divided on this issue as we are. Kinda depressing, but not surprising, as it's human nature to always look for the easiest way to do things.
