Yeah they turn this game into a more casual few hours per week mmorpg. They want something very easy and simple in order to attract as much players as they can. There is no need to make this game way complex and hard but this is too easy. Most aoes attacks in dungeons are not even punishing enough to make an effort dodge them. When I play as a DPS some of them are so weak that I do not even bother move. AOE attacks must be more strong if you want players to make an effort. The open world here is non existent. We use maps here only for some events, gathering and perhaps Fates but that's all. We rarely use them anymore. The dev team must stop fearing creating more challenging content only because some 1 click heroes will cry about it. The weeping city is a brilliant paradigm. Most players like something more challenging. The faceroll on keyboard content will only make people quit out of boredom.

I would leave the Open world alone but we need more content at a level of The weeping city and Final steps of faith where it's NOT a walk over to do even 2 months on and were one person try skipping mechanics and it wipes the whole group (and yes I know this pisses people off) and people need to stop screaming for nerfs whenever a new bit of hard content comes out. I hope SE NEVER nerfs weeping city or Final steps of faith

It's when I get pitted with other players - especially whiny ones - that can make it dreadful.
I basically feel the same as this. Saves me time typing out the same thing!

Yokai Watch event is a challenge.. Even wandering minstrel personally congratulates players upon completion..

But somehow, by saying this i feel like a troll in this thread..

Imo, this is what Diadem should have been, open world map full of danger with proper rewards.

    Afraid of challenge? No!

We are afraid of our own community's ability to focus on winning. Everyone just wants to troll. These trolls come in two forms:

    1) Those who cleared content, got everything they want from the content, then meddle with "clear" or "farm" groups just because the troll is bored.

    2) Those who don't care to actually learn a fight, so they join groups in hope it's a free ride. This person has nothing to lose, since they never won, don't bother with getting the win, and feel as though they are there "just because...".

So, no, we are NOT afraid of challenge. I'm sure most of us came to FFXIV from years of FFXI, and that game had challenge before the nerfs, causing the game to shift to "Easy Mode". The 24-man Raids in FFXIV does not compare to the challenge that Dynamis, or Einhenjar presented back in the day in FFXI.

This thing with Minstrel content, is that it starts off as a challenge. Once on farm status, you can almost do it with your eyes closed. Going back to FFXI's challenge before the nerfs, no matter how many times you completed Dynamis, challenge was still present each time you entered. No matter how many times you entered Nyzul Isle, there was a chance to fail.

People were intimidated by some of FFXI's challenges, but they still went in. People in FFXIV don't bother if they are afraid because of the backlash they get from the community if they mess up, videos are almost enforced, etc..

And it's thoughts like this that brings the challenge of making people want to run content. What I mean is, when people actively note that they don't dodge AOEs, people are not looking at how small or how light it is; an aoe is an aoe, and damage received is damage received, which then starts the "For the love of God, please dodge." posts. And in my personal experiences, a person who don't purposely dodge is the last person I heal.

I think the timer is what causes the biggest issue. Remove that and people just have fun and forget the time they have been in there.

I want to think that the timers are in place to keep the "Instance" servers from being crowded with people who are afk'd there or those who are there just to be there.
