    Too big of an difference between how this game does it and what wow is trying to do. WoW is making the artifact system to where you HAVE to do it order to be any good at your class. Demonology is a prime example. The artifact skill you get has your normal stuff build around your artifact skill which can do at least 1 mil damage if done right (some people were doing 2M+ in the beta). In this game, your relic honestly does nothing to your play style. The artifact system would be great but since they admitted it would be throw away content, its only great if you like doing stuff that hold no weight, like getting a legendary which people are using as a defense. It would be great if it was all a lie, like how they admitted that they would never add flight in WoD and then eventually added it. If they made it persistent, I kind of would leave this game for good for wow, just saying since this game doesn't have something like that yet, even though wow is pretty much taking the idea from XI...go figure...

    FF12 was heavily influenced by ff11, particularly the combat and mark systems... I loved FF12, it was one of my favorites. I think FF14 is good game, but they really need some work on endgame content.. If they can't figure out how to do it, get someone who knows how. Because diadem and deep dungeon just aren't good endgame content imo. And no1 even bothers raiding anymore now that theres a story mode that just lets you win. Heavensward kinda destroyed the tiny bit of endgame that FF14 had in the first place. Instead of, you know, EXPANDING it.

    No, cloning WoW is not OK, FFXIV should be it's own thing - IMHO.

    However, I haven't played WoW, so I cannot tell you if that's the case. If other people think so, that is their opinion. You say "As heard many others say..." I prefer personal experience and/or evidence to back up such a statement instead of the potentially skewed opinions of others.

    Can't stress this enough. in ARR it was a goal to beat coil. In HW its not really even an after thought.

    That's realy a different and somewhat universal issue thought, isn't it? I mean, the reason coil is an afterthought for those at current end game is power creep. It's not an afterthouight if you are at lvl 50 though. So either your gear an abilities should not progress otherwise power-creep makes old raids too easy, or the raids should scale with player ilvl. Given the delicate balance already tuned into the content, rubber-banding major parameters like HP, defence and attack strength would be a disaster. So, how do you keep the Coils current when the current ilvl is 3 times what it took to beal BCOB Turns 1-5?

    LOL But it already is attempting to clone wow in certain ways: the quests, smn is a clone of the warlock job (its a mix of the Demonology and Affliction Warlock), the combat is similar only 14 flat out lights up the boxes to tell you the next thing to use, or how bout the fact that this games own producer said to look to wow for inspiration and had the dev team play wow..hmm WHAT ELSE?? the black mage is a copy of WoW's Balance Druid from Cataclysm, the lock outs are the same format, the currencies are set up exactly like WoW's format, the fact they have Hard Mode dungeons while they change unlike WoW's Heroic/Mythic Dungeons they serve the same purpose and that game old as the hills.

    We fight in dungeons and against Dragons, but does anyone blast the game for cloning D&D?

    There are only so many generic ways to do something, even if you put a crapton of custom frills on things, the heart of the matter is that there are only so many ways to roll a die.

    Cloning implies something different to using systems that are conceptually similar - when there are only a few good ways to do something, you'll always end up being similar to something that has gone before you. But this topic is explicitly asking for the game to be made more like another, so it seems to be talking about more than using similar concepts.
