Change for school/college and tuition then.
The point is that everywhere people will tell you better ways to perform, even to how to drink a beer if you go to a bar.

Healing is the only job that doesn't have dps part of it's job. Tank classes generate some of their aggro based on their damage, dps classes well, dps.
Plus the whole healer stereotype attracts the same type of people, i mean the usual "i want to help everyone but i'm not confident enough to do more than heal", sylphie is a good example.

Hell, this is portrayed in almost every single RPG game/anime where every single healer is always a frail looking girl/boy (usually girl) that never believes in herself to the point it became a meme.

...Did you really use THAT picture to support your point that healers generally are people that want to support others?

The very picture that when shown with its other half makes the exact opposite point?...

I wasn't talking of dpsing or not with that example, I was talking how people see themselves or roleplay as a healer. The job is usually associated with characters who only want to help others rather than kill and we can see that transpiring a lot to people when they're (role)playing a healer job

Oh, I might have misunderstood what you meant.

stereotype attracts the same type of people, i mean the usual "i want to help everyone but i'm not confident enough to do more than heal"
Thought you were saying that the type of people that healers attract are the people that "want to help everyone"

I believe there are common personality traits in those that main certain roles. Both positive and negative. In the case of healers, not responding well to criticism and authority is far from uncommon. I admit that I am guilty of this. I'll even confess right here on these forums that I can be a total sh*t in response to those two things. This ties into another common trait I find they have and it's the fear of inadequacy.

I'm not quite sure some people here understand what a KO or wipe does to healers like me. I mean I dance. And when I say I dance, I seriously push my DPS. But I wish there was a monitor that could show how high my anxiety level rises every second I am in cleric. Some might say that maybe I shouldn't play healer if it's that bad, but there really is nothing I enjoy more than sustaining a group, and no greater sense of accomplishment in the game than when this is done. But something I can't speak for other healers is it is something I recognize I need to get past in order to reach my potential as a healer.

I 'unno. Maybe next time tell the healer in a joking manner, "If Sylphie can cast stone, so can you"

Because they are high-demand enough to get away for it. You don't need to tell a bad tank he's a bad tank, the aggro list and dead members will tell them. Get a bad DPS? Just kick him, someone will join in a minute and will be very happy to get half of the duty done.

Now, healers? Keeping everyone at 100% HP is enough for mostly people (healers and non-healers party members). Don't like my playstyle? I'll just quit. Good luck getting a in-progress healer.

It be boring just healing. Throw in some pizazz and dps so it's not lackluster
