Okay, a PLD wanting extra defense vis stoneskin is annoying? And you get upset when a PLD does it instead of you?The behaviors I find annoying:
The stoneskin healer:
Because I mostly play healer, I don't play with too many other healers. But every now and then I get one who feels they must make sure every party member has stoneskin on before every encounter. I get it at the beginning maybe and before bosses, but it's not really necessary. Just takes too much time unless it's Stoneskin II.
The stoneskin paladin:
This Paladin will wait for you to use stoneskin before every encounter. Just standing around. But they won't actually ask for Stoneskin. So when I don't cast it, they cast it on themselves. Before. Every. Encounter.
Sounds selfish to me. A, "I wanted to SS you", kind of thing?
That's not what I mean at all.
What I wanted to say is it's completely unnecessary to stop and use Stoneskin before every single pull. Especially when we can go through an entire pull without me even needing to use a single healing spell. (Dungeons are really easy).
I am not saying that I am upset because the Paladin used it instead of me. I get upset because they stand around doing nothing, probably waiting for Stonestone from me. But they never ask for it. They never say a word.
And then they cast it on themselves.
It's really not necessary. At least if they want Stoneskin before every encounter, they should cast it on themselves immediately after the last encounter.

LOL, some of them don't even give you time to cast it when you enter the spawn point. I suppose it's not a big deal but how about they focus on their job instead of trying to do the job of others. Maybe I should just heal the dps and let him heal him/herself too. Then we have those who run away before you can even cast the buffs.

I have endgamed healed in FFXI as well as this game, and well I've played each role this particular game has to offer and I generally apply Stoneskin before every encounter. Why? Because it is efficient to not have to worry about 1-2 seconds of damage in-between wanting to DPS more as healer at startup. On the flip side, if the Tank some how gets this before me (which is never), I would find no qualms with it and would actually appreciate it as it cuts down on the initial pull and I can DPS longer. That's not what I mean at all.

As Tank, if I need Stoneskin, I generally ask for it, but if I'm doing multiple large pulls and I have to stop each time to ask for Stoneskin, that in itself is inefficient use of time.
Although, to be honest, I generally just play with my team and if they do not do these things I wish, it doesn't bother me since no matter how efficient you play this game, no one is really going to play perfect and winning a dungeon 2 minutes sooner is not worth grief. Rather everyone just enjoy the game and we win.
I try to cast adloquium at the end of the fight so the tank is shielded for the pull. These are the tanks that will sit around until the galvanize expires and then put on the (much weaker) stoneskin instead.
Oooh, shiney...
