I think that's probably an accurate assessment. also people who started as bad but worked to get good, sometimes forget their roots as a beginner and over criticize something they now deem easyWhen most of their time is spent in an elitist echo chamber, this is the unfortunate result. It's almost parallel to gifted kids who attend schools with no students who are different from them. It distorts their view of reality and, for some, amplifies a superiority complex.
The only thing that really grinds my gears is when someone tells me I'm doing something wrong or bad but then doesn't give me any constructive criticism or advice and continues to complain or insultZ
Example. My first time running Halatali normal for msq. I let the group know it's my first time and we go on into the dungeon. I was still learning how to tank properly and on the second mob one of the dps says something along the lines of "are you using your abilities or do you know how to use them?" I replied that I did and we get to the first boss and wipe. I didn't know the mechanics at the time because I was running it blind without looking at a guide first which I started doing after this. So after the wipe the dps calls me a bad tank and continued to insult me until the group kicked me. I was so ready to just start shouting profanity at that guy. If he was willing to help me I would've been fine but that kind of attitude to insult and not help really made me mad.
Figured this falls under that DPS ignoring their AOE bit, but...
Just got out of Aurum Vale as Ninja, plenty of opportunity for me to get the hang of the Death Blossom AOE mixed in with the fire jutsu, and once again I'm lovin' this job! X3
After realizing that the damage adds up with a larger group of mobs, I've seen the light!
So, thanks to RyuSaarva and Sigiria and the thread in general!
"Ul'dah can keep their dusty markets, and their streets paved in silver and gold.
Limsa Lominsa keep your pirates, and your ships covered in musty mold.

I don't say anything when I'm in duty finder.
I think I laughed more than I should have at that picture. It's pretty funny.
Some behaviors I find aggravating are things like:
*DF Duty starts*
*Tank and/or Healer leaves before 5 seconds have elapsed*
-or-
Sometimes
people
talking to me like
this
when im
wanting them to
say what
they
wanna say
in one
effing
line.
(One thing about that issue, though, is even though it annoys me, I tend to look past it because there are too many factors that lead to someone typing to me like that, and more often than not, it's not their personality making them do it.
