Also doesn't mean that those two options are the only possible alternative methods of getting the item that are present in the game. They're only the ones I happen to have mentioned. There are a number of side quest lines that could offer them as a reward for example; Hildibrand, beast man quests, etc. Dungeon drops. Rewards for the anniversary event. Some have already been offered as vet rewards which do require a lot of time and subscription payments, but if you enjoy the game enough to stick with it long term then that's an eventual given. There's a number of possibilities. But IMO there's no good reason to campaign to get items that are normally added to the game through non-cash shop means to be added to the cash shop instead, unless you're well aware of the possibility that once the first outfit is thrown on the CS and major bank is made, that'll be the new standard for future outfits. If you're okay with that, then that's great. I'm not though.
How does SE benefit in any way by releasing these types of glamour through in-game means? Nor was that even my argument. Of course people prefer free alternatives, however those come at a cost to resources. We simply will not get nearly as many items and/or events will be extremely short because there isn't any profit to be made. Dungeon drops negate any point of a Cash Shop to begin with as people will farm it unless the drop rates are absurdly low. Then we'll see threads complaining about that ala Pigeons. Beast Tribes already offer a mount, glamour and a minion. They may not be special old FF outfits, but they do give us stuff for free. Veteran rewards have already reached a point of necessitating nearly three years of continuous subbing to unlock everything. Comparatively, the Moogle mount will have costed you 19 cents per week over that same time span. It isn't an alternative anymore. I'll be possibly picking up the third expansion before I get Zidane.

Except these outfits aren't "normally added." We have only ever had two outfits from prior FFs. And like I said, if you campaign for them to be free. Be prepared to sacrifice elsewhere. SE is not going to release a slew of cosplay outfits easily obtainable without getting something out of it. No MMO does, be it subscription based, P2P or F2P.

None of this is a matter of whether I or you like it or not. They simply aren't going to do it. Frankly, from a business perspective, they'd be foolish not to utilize the Cash Shop exactly as they have. Sleipnir alone brought in nearly a million.

No, it's a business mindset. Your example would cripple the in-game economy, thereby having negative ramifications on the game itself. You having to pay for some vanity item won't. F2P games also put far more emphasis on their Cash Shops than FFXIV does.

Why would SE care if they sole purpose to just to make money plus players already destroy the in-game economy by themselves already on balmung most stuff you can't put up without being undercut into oblivion. But then again I don't know what other server economies are like.

Because their sole purpose isn't just to make money? Putting that aside, doing something which will negative influence the game may prompt people to leave, thereby losing them money in the long run. And I make gil just fine on Balmung. You just have to know what markets to play, when to get out and not necessarily pick the highest selling items.

Anywho, on topic. I really want Tifa's outfits because it would be awesome for my MNK.
