So tlel me, what exactly do you think goes through a players head when they fail a solo check of an HP sponge? Don't you think it would be "maybe I need to improve?"

Maybe...
Or he just thinks "i don't pay to play just to get a dps wall for every duty i want to do, i'm done..."
especially for healers. SSS doesn't prove that you can play your job, it only proves you can do enough dps in a static environment. Nothing prevents them to suck hard after that with the mechanics like most do anyway.
Nah I don't think anyone can hate this. I don't hate OP either. No hate, only critical and beyond myself... thinking? I actually don't think this would be terrible, I do think it would promote terrible people, but this coupled with the Rating system in a different thread could fit together nicely.. with that said, it could definitely create some segregation, but hey we have that now right? If one thing all of humanity has in common it is their ability to segregate. Never underestimate our unified ability to segregate.
Me: "Aww man I'm clicking all the wrong buttons tonight!"
Friend: "You're i190, you can't click a wrong button unless it is no buttons"
Me: "lol"
If you can't beat a static dps check on a dummy you definitely shouldn't be queueing for whatever dungeon/trial that dummy is based on, because you either don't have enough gear or you don't know how to play your job.
Lulz. I know at least 7 people that would drop this game so fast if they had to beat on a Dummy first. Like do you want to beat on a dummy? Nah me either. Cmon man what do you expect? People want the fight, not the dummy. I'm not saying people are ready ...but that is the rational going on.
Like if you had the option to beat on a wood post or go into space and smack Knights of the Round, or Some epic Rock dude or... you know (insert any big fight here).. what would you chose? No seriously, What would you chose? If you had to fight a stick before every dungeon, would you add it to the "ya im getting better" pile or the " oh look another npc told me to do a thing, so I did it" pile. I suspect the "Why am I still playing this?" pile.

Imagine how disorienting and goofy that would look. You queue for a dungeon and get put in an instance similar to guildhests.Lulz. "In order to enter the dungeon, you must beat the dummy in time."
-.-
Me, personally? I'd be glad that there's something filtering out people who don't know how to play their job, and I wouldn't care that people would quit since those people just make tuns linger.Lulz. LOL , fair enough man, w/e. This doesn't "filter" anyone, at all. The only thing it "filters" is people that don't want to beat on a dummy (good and bad players alike)... aka, be bored while playing a game.... We already have dummies... feel like there is a good "dummy" pun in there, but wouldn't want to get ban. Way to completely avoid the question and jump right for the intended result, of a flawed idea. /golf clap.
Attrition, just saying.

Imoen have you ever even done the Stone Sea and Sky test? Like any of them? The way you speak makes it seem like you haven't or even done a lot of hard content in pugs. You seem so against it and your entire argument comes down to "but it wouldn't be fun" I've sttated several ways on how this could help out and yet you disregard all of it with non answers and misdirections
I had a Nidhogg party where we consistently failed the DPS check 4 times in a row, we had 1 min for vote abandon so we tried once more, this time I OTd & didn't use a single aggro move, yet I was second which means I was doing the most damage bc even after quelling etc a dps would beat a DRK in aggro but that never happened I remained 2nd until the end, healers were 3rd & 4th ._. Anyway as a DRK with a 210 sword I got my add to 55% hp ALONE not a single other dps touched it, by the time the DPS killed the single roaming add. It took 4 dps to kill an add together & me a tank alone got the other add to half hp, & we barely make the dps check & clear(yay) after 7 or so Ahk Morns but I was just in awe that none of the 4 dps couldn't outdamage a DRK with the eso sword.
And then there's my infamous failing A5 normal Hummelfaust DPS check 5 times in a row(with me as SCH DPSing until I was forced to heal bc we needed every bit of damage) & saying they should look up tips & being kicked promptly, couldn't even get to the actual fight, Hummelfaust would drop while they were still killing the Fausts & would have 40% hp left when he ENRAGED THAT IS RIGHT HE HAD AN ENRAGE WHO KNEW???
I support this idea for any content that has a dps check enrage, except to make it desirable they should also add some reward for clearing each dummy as well. Glamour or a weapon of some sort maybe? If there isn't enough incentives people may just get discouraged & quit.
