    DPS requirements to unlock duties?

I am a firm believer in Stone Sky and Sea being a good addition to the game, but Square has left it to founder. Now as many of you forumgoers know, a large problem with the playerbase are players just not outputting enough DPS to pass simple mechanics, making fights much harder than they should be. My proposal is as follows:

Before you can queue for a bit of hard content IE Nidhogg, or Alexander you must first beat the SSS dummy of the equivalent duty. Only after destroying the proper dummy with the duty actually unlock for you. I feel that this would force some less knowledgeable players to step back and reevaluate whether or not they can actually contribute a sizable enough amount to the party, and see if it's actually "that damn bard holding the party back" Note that this would only be for "difficult" content, dungeons and 24 mans would not be needed as they are meant to be less rotation based. After that entire Nidhogg storymode show, I feel like we could really use a sort of proving grounds that people must use to actually PROVE themselves

I would approve this for Savage content, but you seem to want it for the normal "story mode" stuff. I personally don't think this would be useful in the way that you describe. Especially when "Stone, Sky, and Sea" definitely do not represent that player's ability to learn mechanics and have awareness.

SSS should play a more vital role in content but I highly doubt Yoshi and co. will do anything that will hurt the feelings of people playing. Even if they are bads.

Get ready for the Mother Teresa's of the bads to call you out though :/

So if you think this is a bad idea you're Mother Teresa? Got it. Nice to be one of the Gud's though. The game is so lucky to have you.

Bad here! I would personally like this to happen! A lot of the time I queue up, do the thing, and have no idea if I contributed meaningfully. Conversely, sometimes I queue up we wipe and I can never quite be sure if it's my fault. Enter the "test." I will know if my DPS is enough before I queue up and possibly waste 3/7/23 people's time. I know some people do actually call out people for low DPS, but it's never happened to me and I can only imagine it would feel kind of bad. Testing before hand would be much nicer for people like me who want to improve but are delicate crybabies ._.

The problem is a lack of caring. Being bad at handling mechanics and doing low dps is just a symptom of not caring. Your idea does nothing to make them care and only makes life more annoying for those that do.

SSS is just a DPS check. It does nothing for evaluating how well you can handle actual mechanics. Again, wouldn't solve the issue.

Again, they don't care if they contribute or not. Those that do care already have methods to improve, one of which is using SSS as a dps check.

Any sort of Proving Ground would be rendered pointless, simply due to how players tend to run content.

SE implements Proving Grounds - Here's a few targets, do the thing, avoid the bad, kill the stuff. Person passes.

Actual Dungeon - Tank and Healer pulls half the mobs up to first boss. And then complains that DPS is slow, but don't know that young Billy is still fairly new to the game or even MMO's.

No matter what SE does, the "Gud" players will always find reasons to admonish the "bad" players. Always.

The less of a threat mobs are the more mobs the Tank will pull. If SE went back and dialed up the mobs then mob trains wouldn't be a thing because mob trains would = death.

Can't up the mobs in a dungeon because the mob trains are because people outgear and out level the dungeon. To upscale mobs would mean a group of undergeared at the required level would = death.
