People don't know how to take criticism anymore, and bad play is rewarded with with a coddling mentality. Yes, this is a casual game for the most part - that doesn't mean people need to walk on eggshells in fear of getting reported for pointing out things. This whole 'please don't say anything even slightly negative' mentality that we seem to be going towards and the devs seemingly pushing towards it is creating a disturbing trend.
You're welcome! Tbh I'm happy to know that quite a bit of them hate fates too. So maybe in the future SE will make them more interesting.
On topic, I understand a lot of you are wary about cash shop exclusives. And given the track record of other games, I don't blame you. But have more faith in SE. Mounts obtainable in game far outweigh cs mounts. They're probably making bank from the cs and wanted to reward purchasers with an exclusive.
I really want to have faith in SE I really do and I also want to love this game. But after what happened with housing, EU campaign and other things its just getting harder and harder to do so.And from the five mounts we already have two that are completely unique so nearly half of them. (It would be half if we count the wedding mount that you only get by buying the package from the CS) Thats not a rate that makes me comfortable.
I know that the CS will stay and they wont sadly change events back to the beginning where you got the old items on top of the new ones but please SE keep it that way and only put recolors and event items in it.You can earn more money and people have the chance to earn them ingame or buy them..win win for everyone.
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
SE's inability to make it available to all players. Allowing a single player (and alts) to purchase multiple properties to either horde or resell for far more gil. As a Balmung player, putting us in some insanely high pricing bracket (lawl). I'm sure there are other things as well that others can think of. I personally don't care much for housing, so I haven't followed those threads much.

Ah..I was thinking if I saved up enough I can just get a house. But now that I know there's almost no chance of getting my own place I'm sad. Guess I'm stuck with a fc room.SE's inability to make it available to all players. Allowing a single player (and alts) to purchase multiple properties to either horde or resell for far more gil. Well, keep saving if it's importantThey do on occasion release new wards, and there is supposed to be some new "apartment" type housing coming out soon.
